Oh yeh, and you could also do with a read of this topic: http://forum.avsim.n...ill-be-deleted/ Nice knowing ya, Captain Rónán O Cadhain. Go to K-mart and get yourself a sense of humor. Ill bet its a joy to sit next to you in the cockpit for 10 hours a day.

He offered his opinion, and then you cursed at him and told him to speak English. Then he pointed you to a rule you hadn't seen, and you insult his professional abilities? What's your deal man, Ronan (sorry for no accents) has been on these forums for years now and always offers great advice, stories and helping hands, you've been here a week, and already you're storming around like you own the place. What's up with you? Alex. Alex Bourke
July 3, 201213 yr Hahaha this is more funnier than the PPRUNE forums, at least they keep their cool and "professionalism" without putting each other on ban lists like school kids. Being a Pilot isn't a job that the General Public respect, they think they're "glorified bus drivers/button pushers" everyone wants cheap flights and Airlines are trying to compete in a global market these days. I had that twinge of wanting to be a Pilot for awhile, then I saw how the industry is and the money it requires to get a job. No thanks I'll stick to my career. I've had my eye on ATC for awhile and I'm more interested along those lines, maybe. Keep the dream alive fellas. Running i5-9600K @ 4.8ghz - 32GB DDR4 3200mhz - GTX 3070.
July 4, 201213 yr Alright, so how about an 18,000 hour pilot, who fly's both European and to the State's? IMHO, Europe is a better working environment for pilots, of course T&C's have declined in the past 20 years since the advent of LOCO's, but we don't have the like's of the American regional airlines. Even on some of the lowest salaries of first officers here in Europe they can still afford their to have their own residence, and not the style of "crash-pads" that has erupted among young regional airline pilots in the states. Even on how pilot's are treated over here by their company [bar Ryanair, and a few other disgraces to the name of Capitalism]. Just look at what happened to the pensions of the AA pilots just a few months back, totally wiped out. Just my €0.02 Captain Rónán O Cadhain. Fly's State's Like's Dude, go easy with the apostrophes. You even have two ectopic ones stuck over the 'o' and 'a' in your name! July 4, 201213 yr Yes, I would. But, if your hobby become your job, it kills your hobby. Maybe, rather enjoy flying the great NGX in my leisure time, than as my daily business. Peter Frey LSZH

The highly strung, lived their whole life with their nose in a book guys in here keep me coming back .... Once again, no names. U positively annoyed friend?
July 5, 201213 yr Commercial Member Haha, nope. I'm not the one who has to delete your posts. Not my job and I really couldn't care any less. I was just lookin out for ya. I thought we got over going into nameless fora in an attempt to just tick people off in 8th grade... Kyle Rodgers
July 5, 201213 yr Yes, if I had an opportunity I would definately like to be an airline pilot. Lucklily in Europe it's not as bad as in the US. I wish US pilots were more luckier. Dmitrij Nazarenko
July 6, 201213 yr Just thought Id share my talk with a pilot at the airline I work for here in Calgary. I had a good talk about flying the other day and he really explained it well. He said that you go train in whichever way you wish to take (and there are lots of them). He said its really important just to go for it and not too look at your bank statements :). If you love it you are going to stick with it if not you can move on. But because of the hard hours and days they put in the love for the flying really has to be there to give you any hope in being successful. At the end of our conversation he gave me his card and offered to take me under his wing and help me along the process. He explained how important networking is and how it can be the difference between getting jobs. I was getting discouraged with the money factor, but just talking to one person who was really passionate about it made my perspective change immensely. I am now thinking about just going for it and if it doesn't work out I have some options out there to fall back on. Thanks for letting me share all! and happy flying!
