February 13, 201214 yr Left the Sim running at 4X whilst I posted the above. On returning, the Statics,Alitalia, had vanished seems they were not static after all.Might be something to do with the file AFX_LICJ_R1_0.bgl - seems to be just a little incomplete. I wouldn't expect to see any AI traffic move, or to get any taxi instructions yourself.John My co-pilot's name is Sid and he's a star! http://www.adventure-unlimited.org
February 13, 201214 yr Hi to all ;)i will release the update next weekend:- The patch include 2 corrected AFCAD files. One for AI air traffic users, the second for nomally users. Another change concerns the Taxiway named TANGO, like charts on README.PDF and like reality works on the apron... Stay tuned, i'm working for usmany many thanksBest RegardsFrancesco Salsano

I threw a working AFD file together this morning, if it is of any help to you drop me a PM with your email address. The only thing I haven't fathomed out (and I didn't do much testing) but there don't seem to be any taxiway/apron lights whether I include it in the AFD file or not. I may have missed something as I didn't have a lot of time on my hands.John My co-pilot's name is Sid and he's a star! http://www.adventure-unlimited.org
February 13, 201214 yr Hi,nice scenery. But a few notes, if you have "Sicily" installed there are some Palermo .bgls which interact with this scenery.Cannot give any more info on "Sicily" except to say , Iv'e had it since 2005 so its an oldun.Iv'e renamed the Tango.bgl to .Backup, this removes the concrete blocks of the taxiway T.Seems there is something wrong with the Alitalia statics, too many of them, but as yet have not identified the .bgl for the statics.Look forward to the update.Regards JohnTI tried an experiment. Created a temporary scenery.cfg file with only default scenery and the new LICJ scenery and it works fine. So you are right, it must be a conflicting file or files in other sceneries. I'll keep searching. BTW, it's not the VFR_Palermo photo scenery - I tried that and it worked fine with the scenery. When I have a solution I'll post it so anyone else with the same problem can fix it

Very odd but removing it fixed the problem - a freeware addon for LDDU DubrovnikWhy an airport in Croatia would affect the terrain level around a particular airport in Sicily is beyond me, but it did. So now I can enjoy LICJThat is one of the very reasons my entire add-on database is always disabled and I only enable the airports I need for any particular flight. Anything else is a waste of resources and introduces more options for issues...Looking forward to trying this one when I get time to try all the phenomenal new releases for FS9! February 13, 201214 yr Author when I get time to try all the phenomenal new releases for FS9My thoughts exactly. The number of recent increbicle releases has by far surpassed my expectations... Give me 240 hours a day, 70 days a week, 300 days a month and 3650 a year to enjoy them all!

It would certainly reduce load times as well as conflicts like I just experienced. Thanks for the idea
February 13, 201214 yr I might try this. It would certainly reduce load times as well as conflicts like I just experienced. Thanks for the ideamy pleasure, I have been doing it for years. I figured this out years ago when diagnosing OOm errors and figured out FS loads EVERY active scenery into memory as it loads regardless if it is being used. I also noted numerous files being called randomly from half way around the globe when flying in areas that had no relevance to the scenery that was being called. Hence disabling everything I am not using for that particular flight. Why load scenery in China for a flight between newark and Heathrow LOL. Part of my pre-flight is to go into FSM real quick, enable the airports I am flying between, enable them in AES and go. My load times are ~ 15 seconds... Have a Wonderful Day -Paul Solk
February 14, 201214 yr ... and figured out FS loads EVERY active scenery into memory as it loads regardless if it is being used.No way is this possible. I have far more disc space consummed by scenery addons than I have memory. I have more mesh than I have memory, let alone addon scenery. Why load scenery in China for a flight between newark and Heathrow LOL.It might be because one of the addons along your flight path is calling scenery objects from object libraries in the China scenery.regards,Joe The best gift you can give your children is your time.

But yes, they are indeed all read and processed as FS starts even if not all kept in memory. Run Filemon as FS starts to see for yourself... The bigger point I was making was in regards to streamlining FS which is what I was referring to. Hence why a vanilla FS loads up so much quicker than a bloated one with a ton of add-ons. But Mea Culpa regardless. As for something calling something from an add-on in China along my flightpath across the Atlantic I doubt it. Sometimes unrelated files have unwanted affects, reducing the number of files loaded reduces the number of variables. Furthermore, why even have FS process it on loading if I am not using it?I have NEVER had an issue since only loading the add-on airports I require for my particular flight and I continue to recommend it as a method for streamlining and optimizing loading.
