This thread has got me thinking about round the world flights into destinatios you wouldnt normally take a heavy. Part of what I love about freighter routes is that you fly into a lot of destiniations that you never would with pax flights. Is there a good web resource for round the world flights?

sorry to say i won't be flying her anywhere. As elegant & prestige as she is, she isn't my type of aircraft, so i will leave her in the hands of the 'classic' enthusiasts.
I am in the same boat. I do like the classics for an occasional flight but would not fly enough to justify a purchase.

Around the world! It will be my 3rd time. I like the piston prop jobbers for this, especially the big ones.

Aren't we getting a little ahead of ourselves in saying "not enough to justify the purchase," before the plane even has a price tag?

Exactly! It could be $20!

I'm just amazed at how those guys come into a topic about where you'll fly your DC-6, and the only thing they have to say is "I'm not buying it".

:unknw:Make your own thread and title it "Why will you not be buying the DC-6?" Admittedly Mark was only responding to a post that shared his opinion. But still.

I'm just amazed that you don't seem to understand the OP's question.. Any question can have a 'positive' or 'negative' answer. In this case it's asking "where will you fly your DC-6?" to which i replied "I won't be flying it" and then proceeded to explain why...so i didn't come into this thread and only say 'I'm not buying it' as you seem to think i did.

I thought that was a given. I will be making probably the lousiest landing in the history of the airport... and that airport would be Vancouver... guess where I will be flying from?

Well, since I only fly in the UK, I am guessing that (should I decide to purchase the PMDG DC6), my first flight will be somewhere in the British Isles :(
