March 2, 201214 yr WOW! This is beautiful, how can people be saying they aren't impressed?Probably because they own sceneries from ORBX, which are already incredible. Shane Gavin
March 2, 201214 yr Probably because they own sceneries from ORBX, which are already incredible.Exactly. As good as this looks, and I think it is stunning, ORBX trumps everything. Maybe it does not win in every square block, but certainly in every region with complete 4 or 5 seasons (one being hard winter) and night and day textures. That includes shorelines, proper highways and mesh. Nice to see a wee bit of competition, but there is still a large gap IMHO.Kind regards,

I think excellent photo real combined w/ custom placed autogen & land class would be as good as it will get until such time photo real 3D is truly mastered. March 3, 201214 yr Looks far better than OrbXI happen to agree. The only turn offs about this are the cost to coverage ratio, and I can't see how all that custom-placed autogen won't obliterate my framerates.

You are right. It is beautiful.
March 3, 201214 yr HelloI only buy scenery for Europe so Orbx is of no interest to me sadly, though it does look very nice..I will most probably buy this as I have been impressed with the airports I have from these guys.

March 3, 201214 yr You will have to wait for the UK to come from ORBX then ;)HelloI am more than happy with VFR GenX + Treescapes + everything from UK2000.Perfect for my needs plus John Venema is not he sort I want to support judging from what I have seen of his online persona.
March 3, 201214 yr Ok fair enough thats your opinion, ive found him to be a very pleasant chap when i have spoke to him. Simon Roberts
March 3, 201214 yr Well I can't disagree with you there Noel. You are right. It is beautiful. That so many wonderful sceneries and planes have come out is a testement to just how potent FSX has been as a platform to develop for. The only sad part is that it is also so dated in terms of coding efficiency, DirectX 11 support etc. I wonder, will Prepare3D re-write the base software to address these weaknesses? What seems so weird to me is that one of these companies that provide add ons haven't decided to take on the bigger and yet potentially more enduring role of developing that new base platform: new more robust ATC, better utilization of the GPU, better multi core support up to 6 processors, etc. Someone like ORBX should really consider taking that on! I know Xplane is sort of doing that but maybe something modeled more like FSX.
