the graphics are lovely - and the game runs smooth as silk (a lot smoother than FSX)lighting is lovely toobut I'm not quite getting the flight model yet - feels very floaty ? - perhaps I have some hidden aids turned on - but I thought I'd turned them off. Also I'm flying in a storm, in heavy rain, but not really getting any buffeting or turbulence ?in the A5 what does "B" do ? brake ? try it in chase mode- it sets throttle to zero and puts landing gear down (with no animation whatsoever), press B again - throttles back up, landing gear goes back up (again with no animation) - yet if you press G for gears - you get a proper gear up/down animation
Sorry, but I can't help you much. Found the controls somewhere to shut down all flying assist and cranked everything up. They are in settings and free flight somewhere. The sooner you get out of the amphib and into the Stearman or something, the better I think.Kind regards,

Sorry, can't help you much. Found the controls to take out flying assist somewhere. Get out of the flying car and get in the stearman if you can...
thanks for reply - I was in the Stearman :)back to the A5 currently and now I'm getting some turbulence underneath some single storms - not seen anything lighning yetbut lighting is superb I do admit

B turns the engine on or off.Pressing O opens doors or canopies, try that when its flying, in the A5 when you open the canopy the sound is superb and also the effect of the drag on the airplane pushing your nose down.

It's quite nice isn't it?They've changed a few things from the beta. The music is different, to be honest I preferred the beta music but meh.. it's just music! The water reflections are way better now, and I'm finding performance a little better too. You're right about the graphics engine. It's beautiful. Smooth and fluid. The shadows are incredible, as are the reflections. The weather's good, but not very customizable. You only have presets to choose from as far as I can see (fair, stormy etc). You can't manually set wind speed/direction and cloud base/tops like you can in FSX. The in-game market place and download manager are quite smooth to use. I even purchased the extra islands in-game and it worked perfectly, didn't even have to restart the game.A feature i'd like to see added in future is the ability in free flight to set the aircraft up in free flight on a final approach with one click. You can set it up on a specific runway or you can set it up in the air, but not on final approach. Would be nice in addition to the landing challenges for a bit of practice!Obviously time will tell what happens to it and how far it goes. But for a bit of fun right now, I like it.

I never left. Someone on the Flight Team posted soon after the beta testing ended, that they had decided to keep the Beta Discussion forum open,
Hmmmmm.... I only tried once then gave up, too.For all people wondering about the possible future, old FSX hands should take a look at the CFG.I will also say it likes Xbox controllers a lot better than joysticks, right now.

CFG does look familiar. Performance though is just in a different league, and there's no comparison between Flight scenery and FSX default scenery. My joystick is a cheap crappy wireless one, and it's no worse in Flight than in FSX.

HiFlyer - only tried with my X52 so far - but will give it a go with one of my 360 contollers (via my MS wireless dongle) later- see how I get on

One of the first things I did was change some of the keybinds back to the FSX defaults. No need for me to re-learn those.

I meant specifically hints of old friends perhaps prematurely pronounced dead. Boat traffic, AI traffic, ATC............

Hey, lookie here guys:From the cfg file[Traffic]AirlineDensity=0GADensity=0RoadDensity=0ShipsAndFerriesDensity=0BoatDensity=0IFROnly=FalseAirportDensity=0 :Nerd: I just did my first tweak with FLIGHT and am going to test it out now! Big%20Grin.gif

Whay have I done wrong? I start up stuck in the "balloon" mission and can't get out of it. The "End Mission" button is greyed out.Is there any help?

Gerry Howard

You have to complete that mission and the next one . . . they make up the tutorial, which has to be completed before you can do much else.

The two missions you need to do to earn the free flight mode only take a few minutes each to do, maximum 15 minutes for both, then you can do whatever you want after that.

well in .cfg changing Antialiasing to 16 seems to have made an improvement :)
