March 6, 201214 yr Commercial Member Rudder pedal combined with the brake key causes differential braking. Its not ideal, but its a work around till MS fixes the brake axis. Kevin Miller 3D Artist and developer

I've ran off the runway more than a few times because the 'B' key is not working out...Um Dillon, "B" is not "Brakes!"Use: Z X C keys for brakes.Z = left brakeX = both brakesC = right brakesUntil toe-brake axes are fixed, I've assigned the left/right brakes to the two trigger buttons on my CH Yoke. I then added the <Repeat>32.000</Repeat> to the standard.xml file. This allows me to use "differential braking" to assist in steering while on ground...My only "complaint" is that there's about a 2 second delay between application and actual braking, so I've need to anticipate using the left/right brakes. There seems to always be a delay between when I press the key and when the brakes actually start responding. It's on by default, so people don't tip the Stearman on its nose :).

March 12, 201214 yr Has anyone had any success mapping the 'X' = 'both brakes' function to a Joystick button?I've tried mapping that key to a couple of different buttons but it doesn't seem to work mapped to a joystick, only to the X key?Just want to make sure it's not just me confusing the 2 second delay of the brakes for the joystick button mapping not working, although it does make it a convenient scapegoat for my failing the Stearman landing challenges by crashing after running off the end of the runway :D --John near KPAE

March 12, 201214 yr Thanks for the confirmation Don and Bill, I will revisit my mapping tonight and add that repeat rate, having brakes on the Joystick will increase my enjoyment of landings a huge amount as opposed to trying to fumble for the keyboard, many thanks. --John near KPAE
