Ray Smith's AFCADs

Featured Replies

I've downloaded and installed lots of Ray Smith's excellent AFCADs for FSX. I've found all of them to be of a very high standard, easy to install, and a vast improvement on the FSX defaults. This is particularly useful for me, because I have Flight 1's Ultimate Traffic 2, which generates lots of AI traffic, sometimes too much for the default airports. He doesn't include any contact information in his downloads, so having just downloaded and installed his latest one, for VHHH, I would just like to say a big thank you to him for ll he's doing to make FSX a much better experience.Keep it up, Ray!

I second that thanks, I would rather have a good AFCAD for a default airport than a mediocre scenery! Ray's AFCADs do the job top notch.Lee

Has anyone packaged them together in one zip file or does everyone just grab each airport individually?

If you do a search for KHWO in the FSX section of the file library, it will throw up a few entries - but one of them will be a package of every AFCAD Ray made in 2008 (all 284 of them). As far as I know, there have been no 'compiled' packages since then, and the post-2008 AFCADS will have to picked up individually. But that package is certainly a good place to start from.Brian Wilks

I don't know if Ray frequents these forums ? But one of his recent afcads had his contact details I think. I know he comes from New Zealand, but that is the only clue I have. His crosswind afcads are superb, and can never fault them. Thanks Ray, where ever you are.

I wanted to add my thanks as well, I have loved using his afcads for my non payware airports. He also does a very good job at assigning airlines to their proper gates, which is no small feat given the lack of info other than wikipedia or photos from the web.

And I also use and enjoy Ray,s afcads...Thank you,Sir..

OK, got it, thanks, and I've written to him.

I too use Ray's files as much as I can. Many thanks to Ray for his hard work.

I'd look for his 2009 and newer stuff. He really began to refine his skills and started adding more ambient objects at that point.

Big thanks from me too. Never ceases to amaze me that no matter where what airport I decide to fly to, there always seems to be one of Ray's excellent AFCADs in the AVSIM library for me to use.Graeme
