High TAT PMDG NGX

As I'm typing I'm flying out of YBRM @ 18,000ft and my TAT is +18.I've just noticed as I've been getting really slow climbs around FL280 (the temp is still in the positives) due to high TAT.Can this be looked at for the first SP?Can't edit my post, still climbing the TAT has gone up from +18 to 21 @ FL200. Now it's dropped right down to +10 @ FL220 is hovering at +11.I cross check my waypoints at this time and the temp should be -30's. Only weather I'm using is ASE2012, FSINN weather is off by default and FSX weather is user defined due to ASE.Obvious issues. Can't edit my post, still climbing the TAT has gone up from +18 to 21 @ FL200. Apologies for the above post the forum wasn't working properly. Also I'd like to point out when landing at YBBN at 0901GMT the winds were 170/11 but the wind was more around 350-360 degrees, what the? Also in this photo there was supposed to be a 4000ft overcast when approaching Brisbane which was no where to be seen... I've downloaded the Beta SP1 and running that at the moment...

I have noticed what you are talking about, mostly when climbing out of a warmer climate (Hawaii) using AS2012. The temperature reduction really seems to lag as you climb, like the temp interpolations between the known altitude values get behind in the processing. I have experimented at a given altitude by closing AS2012 and then reloading it, and the temperature returns to a more normal value once AS2012 reloads. This was happening before, and now with SP1beta.MK

Snap - just had the same problem. KABQ to KTUS TAT @ 30000ft was +28C !! Any ideas as to the problem??Steve Amsdenp.s. I was using the Beta release

Cheers

I have discussed this problem with Hifi in a previous post and it supposedly is being addressed for future fix bv Damian and his crew, but for the interim, I have switched back to STANDARD mode. In that mode temps and winds DO change correctly and proportional to altitude. Apparently DWC only adjusts them after passing the fixed data levels and then rapidly changes temps/winds to bring them back to accuracy for that level but then they remain at that setting until the next data level, etc. When I was leveling off at altitude with DWC the temps and winds were still displaying the data from the data level below me. Eventually the correct winds/temps would begin displaying. The big problem this creates with sophisticated sims like ConcordeX and PMDG NGX/B744 is that engine efficiency is directly related to ambient temperature causing very irratic climb/descent behaviour to occur in DWC. Standard, however, seems to allow correct RW climb/descent performance.

Those experiencing a high-TAT condition in DWC, please try the latest SP1 beta build (4469 - from http://support.hifitechinc.com) which has some significant temperature-process changes. If you continue having such trouble with the new build, please open a ticket and provide as much information as you can.... we are hoping to find duplication scenarios should the problem persist. Thank you!

Sorry about my posts, the forum had a huge fit and I couldn't edit my posts to clean them up. Thanks for the reply will download the new one see how we go *fingers crossed*.

I still am having the high temps with SP1 and PMDG 737 NGX, I shut AS2012 down and restart and temps go to normal but the winds and temp are instant when it restartscausing over speeds and a rapid increase in my climb from about 200 fpm to an instant 4500 fpm. Very frustrating. I am running the latest FSUIPC.

Still getting silly TAT's, +10 degress @ FL280 flying out of Nadi (NFFN). TAT should be around -13 or colder. Using latest Beta.

Same problem with me. I've got very low climb rates on altitudes above 20000ft (between 0-500ft/min). The reason seems to be wrong temps, too.

I've tried it with and without AS2012 BETA SP1 - it's all the same.

When climbing with the NGX without using AS2012 everything works fine.

+1 for this issue...

Best regards, Fritz ESSONO

I haven't seen any temperature problems with the NGX either under ASE or my recent upgrade to AS 2012 - mind you I only bought the NGX when it came out on DVD, so I don't have 000's of hours in.

However, be aware similar problems go back to 2009 and beyond when it first cropped up with the LDS 767 for FSX and the PMDG 744 and MD11. It's pretty obvious that as these are hi-fidelity models, they are the ones that are going to suffer if temperatures are wrong as they are the ones that most accurately model engine performance.

You'll find the relevant forum posts if you search. I got very fed up with the whole thing after a while but I don't it was ever really resolved.

Whether it's the aircraft or deficiencies in the FSX weather engine or problems in the way FSX interacts with external programs or AS itself remained a matter of debate & argument between various users and Hi-Fi. I think it's fair to say that if it isn't the aircraft [which is a dead end anyway as their publishers pride themselves on the accuracy of their modelling and are hardly likely to change it], then the other potential problem areas are the very reasons we buy AS products so to me, the ball is very much in Hi-Fi's court.

however, when I launch AS2012 "AFTER" loading a flight(aircraft, scenery, traffic etc), high TAT at high ALT problem does not happen.

can't use snapshot feature but it's bug free, IMO

Joohon Chae

Might it related to loading a flight and then changing airports, all this while as2012 is connected? This only happened to me when using P3D, which always loads a flight on startup.
