Flight outstanding new features

Featured Replies

Hi everybody,I have read a lot about Flight and FSX and comparasions between these two plataforms. When a new game is released you expect it to be awesome, innovative, with so much more than previous game releases in order to succeed in todays market.Could someone here please post the real new features this game has, but please, don't write about enhacements, as long as I'm looking for real outstanding new features, not improvements, fixes etc. Improvements, fixes are for existing games, upgrades not for new ones. What makes this game outstanding, different, innovative. Please don't start comparasions, because we should not compare and old obsolete plataform with a new one, we all know that Flight is not FS11.Thanks guys

I'm not sure how you expect someone to list new features in a game without comparing it to an older game as a baseline...

"For sure..."Sounds to me more like the proverbial "setup". Raised%20Eyebrow.gifAttila? This your alternate nick (the tico)?

The single most outstanding feature of Flight? For me, it's put the "FUN" back into flying, and is a terrific way for me to relax during breaks from slaving away in 3d Studio Max on my FSX projects, or MS Visual Studio coding gauge/panel systems! :LMAO:

good point, You might have to. My point is, we already know what FS9 and FSX has, now with that in mind, go ahead and point out the new features, I was trying to avoid the tons of replies telling me what Flight does not have and the fixes made.

Ok, one fine answer to a question without comparing, can you see it Great Ozzie, it is possible.

Amazing stock sceneryGameplay that's built around flying with a specific purpose (finding something, carrying cargo, carrying passengers, etc...)

Hi ticosimmer,I would echo the sentiment already expressed - the FUN factor. But I am not going to go into any deeper than that.I don't mean this to sound harsh - but seriously, I mean the core product is a free dowload - not like you are going to spend 60 bucks and do not want to be dissappointed, may I suggest, you download the core free product, fly at least the first two missions that are required to unlock the rest of the content in the free product - if you do not already have a Live id, create one so you can sign on through Live so you have the Stearman which is a blast - and see for yourself...

Malibu43 is right, why not comparing??Just installed, ready to go, imo Flight bring:improved graphics (the plane look very well, the mesh are detailed)improved hardware support, best multitasking and new directx supportmore simpleMaybe could not be necessary do a comparison, because Fsx is an flight simulator programs, Flight an arcade game. Depend on what you need, I use and love both :)

The beauty of Flight is not in what it adds... It is in what it enhances. Through the lighting, physics and flight models, Flight creates a truly immersive sensation of flying that I have never encountered before outside of a real cockpit. Previous "sims" didn't come close to providing that... they just felt like I was sitting in a simulator.Considering that the base package is a free download, there's really no reason not to try it out. Just be sure to give it at least a full hour of your time, as the "I tried it for 10 minutes and deleted it" people are barely even getting beyond the introduction, if that. The "silly" game aspects can be entirely ignored, if you so choose.

Ok, now I have some new good points, thanks for that,Lightning ( enhaced)sounds (enhaced)Physics (enhaced)Inmersive sensation ( NEW one )Fun factor ( enhaced)I agree that the inmersive sensation is a new one, a good new one. Of course it is derived from all the above in the end. In previous Sims I didn't have that inmersive sensation, you alway felt behind the monitor unless you added TrackIR for instance.

Well,First of all, the scenery is great! I personally did not see a single bug in my gameplay (i know there are, but i didn´t see them)! The new plataform really got me retihnking about the way i played the game, for instance, the "problem" of having just a few planes avalable made me really get to know the plane i was flying (cruise, climb, stall speeds) just like a real aircraft owner that has to know his plane...in other editions i just jumped form plane to plane and didnt really got to know them. The same thing with the places i used to fly. I guess now we can REALLY get to know a little more of the history of where we are flying, and as the DLCs taking a little more time to come, it will end up that when the world is complete, we will have learned a lot of places that in the older editions i used to pass by at 30000ft, at mach 1!Those, in my opinion, are the improvements. ps: sorry about the english, its not my native language :)

Agreed with Fr. Bill.1. F U NNothing wrong with a little fun, eh?2. better scenery out of the box (enhancement?)3. Better (imo) flight model with respect to actual FORCES - apart from the ones that pull your wings off when you fly like an idiot <--not me, obv ;)That's it, imo (for now, at least)bestjakep.s. Sorry, OT but Bill, what do you model? Excuse my ignorance (and nosiness)..I'm an old-time 3ds user from the days of the DOS version back in '94 (before it became MAX - Flight comparison? Nope..it got waaay better :) ) and still use it to fool around in..I do occasional graphic design work for some older clients of mine (from when I still "did" graphics) I see you model for Eaglesoft? I still don't have _any_ iron in FSX bar NGX..until then I was too scared to deal with all those knobs and buttons!

Sure absolutely possible to have a good discussion here... my reply was essentially tongue-in-cheek. But also possible for more FLIGHT bashing. And how does one know what "new" is, if you cannot compare it to something else... particularly when we all know there is something else to compare to.I can understand the purpose of what I quoted you... if this release required you forking out a substantial amount of cash. But I am like the Don B. If you are into flight sims... why exactly not download (for free) and spend some a couple hours with it. Then you too could compare / contrast with some of the responses here. Then maybe that helps to spawn ideas how to improve the base product.
