The new plane is the Zero!

What strikes me as odd is that the Flight wesbsite and Facebook page are flooded with negative comments and very few positive ones. Where are the Flight fans? Why don't they speak up and give the Flight team a pat on the back? Is Flight that bad?
Not how the internet works

That´s a BIG disappointment. I thought MS would listen to user comments complaining about planes w/o cockpit. Well, obviously, they either don´t or if they do they just don´t give a damn at all. Maybe they´ll start listening if we don´t buy such an aircrap aircraft.

No its just that its such a tone-deaf move public relations-wise, that even people willing to give flight the maximum possible chance are left with no energy to defend it.

+1. this even let me leave a comment on their website.I am really willing to believe in flight and the dev team but yet another WW1 plane is a slap in (my) face. Just take the mustang, make some changes to the model, adjust the specs and there we go and have a zero. wow, great work. luckily both have no cockpit so even less porting needed. no, not my thing. if this is the direction then I will not even spend my Live XP funny money on these non-cockpit planes (which I considered before as they would come sort of for free). I accrued some 150hrs now and am 'stuck' at level 20. I need something new now. alaska will be the next and hopefully not last chance, hopefully it won't take any much longer. yesterday I did a first flight in FSX with the NGX, for the first time I fired up FSX after Flight came out. and I am sure I will be more willing to turn to FSX if the next airplane is again a non-cockpit or even another taildragger. biz jet would be great but if not now then at least a 2 engine plane like cessna 340, king air or beech 350 would be appreciated.

It's an internet comments section, what do you expect? Try reading the comments left on Youtube videos.

They may as well have put torpedoes on the bottom... What's next? NYC and the much requested airliners? Why not. Apparently ms doesn't want us to have what we want, they want us to simulate attacks on the united states.
Whats wrong with that? Now they only have to add US Planes and then they are ready for making WW2 combat mission which mainstream audience will surely like.Though come on, even BF3 has cockpits on its jet fighters.

Microsoft Flight channels Youtube videos are are moderated, I have tried and only positive or only mildly negative comments get through. Just compare them to videos on random unofficial channels, they are full of negative comments.Plus comments sections do not get flooded by negative comments if the game is actually good.

What makes a good game? :wink:I get the impression people are trolling hard. A section of the board got 80P must of been pretty bad. This is the internet the loudest majority are the people who are  and trolls

Trolling? Well there certainly have been some (maybe even lots) but even people who have been positive are not getting fully behind this one.

Imo people have become spoiled by the fast pace of modern life, the things been out for around a month and so far has 2 external only planes and 4 soon to be 5 (fingers crossed) working vc planes. Looks like they have been ignoring the people who just want more cheap planes to fly around the free island.

I must admit to thinking it was a bit insensitive for them to come out with a zero for Flight, given the Hawaiian theme. But mostly it just seems to me a lame choice when there are so many good possibles. A zero with no cockpit? Huh? Still having difficulty wrapping my brain around that...Cheers,

Guilty as charged.

+1I am fast approaching that stage as well.I will keep an open mind and maintain some hope, see what the Alaska DLC brings in maybe another plane or two - and hopefully Track IR support.

-- looks like a lot of Flight players bought the p-51 and MS is pushing the cheaper, no cockpit planes :-(
I bought that too. By ACCIDENT as i wanted to buy maule... May be more of us bought that way and no one really want that plane :D. May be we should write about it to MS :)

well...I'm still "glass half full" with Flight. As Fr Bill stated in another thread, to get an accurate measure of what sells, and what doesn't, it may not make sense to release the same plane with and without cockpit at the same time. The following is my "guessing" - release the cockpitless version, see how it sells, then sell a full cockpit version (and an upgrade to the no cockpit version) to get a better idea? I'm not in marketing, but would this give Microsoft a clearer picture of what the Flight consumer wants?I haven't been able to spend the time with Flight that I would like due to other commitments, so not very far into it. For me, Flight is a good "pick up and play" for the 20 minutes or so I can dedicate to it. Still the best "feel of flying" that I've found for low and slow flight. So while I was initially disappointed with the Zero announcement, Fr Bill gave me something to think about. That, and patience for Alaska and the next airplane (please please helicopter!) are what make me still hopeful for Flight.
