April 17, 201214 yr And as i have been hearing, they also have an update coming out with an FDE made by an avionical engineer. There is no such thing as an "avionical engineer". I'm assuming you mean an "avionics engineer", which is a misnomer in itself since the term "engineer" is customarily assigned to professionals who have been licensed by virtue of their education, experience, and a demonstration of relevant knowledge. This includes licensed electrical, mechanical, civil, and structural engineers, among others. There is no such thing as a licensed "avionics engineer", but there is an FCC "licensed avionics technician". That said, my personal preference (based on my experience with a whole slew of inferior flight sim addons plus a precious few really great ones) is for an FDE developed by an experienced RW pilot. April 17, 201214 yr Ok guys you are right, my english isn't my first language, it is aeronautical engineer my bad, thanks for clearing that up! Best Regards Hey, no need as we most probably would not be proficient at your language. Main point is, you got your point across, and you took part in the thread. As an ex-BA avionics technician I did not object. Rick Almeida
April 19, 201214 yr All right, then Credit to who deserves credit. I tried the Milviz F-15 and I it was pretty good. I also tired to IRIS F-15 and there is certainly some differences such as the graphics and special effects-- they are much better. I actually like the IRIS F-15 more. I haven't gone in dept into the technical side; however, by flying it for about 30 mins, yesterday I can already start seeing the potential it has; which is very much positive.
April 19, 201214 yr @Johnny767 So, in your opinion,as you rate the Iris version, does it have the weapons simulation, cockpit modelling, etc, etc as per that MilViz's video? Rick Almeida
April 19, 201214 yr I'm sure I read somewhere that Iris are working on a patch and that it will be compatible with the CaptainSim weapons pack - someone else will have to fill in the details as I can't remember where I read that. Personally I don't want the weapons and don't think it particularly needs a patch but I'm looking forward to hearing more about it anyway. 9950X3D - X870E Aorus Master- TUF 5090 OC - 64GB DDR5 - 1500W HXi - Titan 360 RX LCD - 9100 Pro x 2 - LG 45GX950A - HOTAS Warthog with Ava Base

How did they perform on your machine ? was one of them "smoother" than the other ?
April 19, 201214 yr @Johnny767 So, in your opinion,as you rate the Iris version, does it have the weapons simulation, cockpit modelling, etc, etc as per that MilViz's video? Yes it does...I would say they are pretty much similar in most things. However, Milviz is able to shoot AI; where as IRIS doesn't. I think they are both great products technically. However, I am also very big on looks (graphics). IRIS ovrall graphics are much better in and out...nice VC lightninig, super afterburner effects and condensation, and GPS map...Better detailed over all ! Milviz, though has better sound !
April 19, 201214 yr How did they perform on your machine ? was one of them "smoother" than the other ? I have a pretty strong system (I believe), and performance drops slightly with IRIS F-15 than with the Milviz. This is due to the higher detail on the IRIS...the quality, and color are more detailed pure, and dense. I must say' however, they are both high quality in graphics...However, the IRIS is on par with VRS or PMDG. Now, system wise they are both closely similar with IRIS taking the lead on a few things. So, honestly I'd say this is kinda-like comparing PMDG 737and I-Fly 737 NGX-- they are both high caliber add-ons with PMDG looking prettier.
April 19, 201214 yr Thanks Johnny767 for such a thorough appraisal of both offerings. Now you have really put me in a quandary. Looks like it'll be a repeat iFly/PMDG scenario, I'll end up buying both and I want to resist doing that with the advent of so many more add-ons in the pipeline Rick Almeida
April 20, 201214 yr However, the IRIS is on par with VRS or PMDG Hello Please stop , I have just spit beer across my keyboard
April 20, 201214 yr However, the IRIS is on par with VRS or PMDG I have the VRS (Superbug ??) and I have to say I've never ( ever) seen anything that even comes remotely close to that addon (in terms of quality system fidelity and all that). Provided we mean the same thing of course.
April 20, 201214 yr Hello Please stop , I have just spit beer across my keyboard No, no, don't be mad... I don't mean they are identical. But IRIS and Milviz very well modeled that they are well at the level of VRS and PMDG. Remember, there are other talented developers out there and not just one. I have the VRS (Superbug ??) and I have to say I've never ( ever) seen anything that even comes remotely close to that addon (in terms of quality system fidelity and all that). Provided we mean the same thing of course. And, I understnad what you mean. The VRS is a masterpiece; however, we also need to give credit to those who come very (very) close to a VRS or a PMDG. We must see beyond our noses and realize there are good stuff coming up in the horizon by other developers, as well.
