April 3, 201214 yr BTW- Where is the 44% off sale taking place? http://www.flightsimstore.com/ Check it out..
April 3, 201214 yr I don't know the boundaries within the sim and I lack inspiration on where to fly within them (albeit less so, now with Ideal Flight). I tend to buy the regions, then be stuck on where to fly to see or indeed find the interesting parts of the scenery. Then, I tend to lose interest. Stick - another addon that got around that (for me) was "Cargo Pilot", from Just Flight. Just pick something like the BN-2 Islander and fly the short cargo routes it presents. It's a bit simplistic, but it filled a gap. The other - and maybe better way - is to go to the Digital Theme Park using TeamSpeak3, "avsim.digitalthemepark.com ", where you'll find a dozen or so routes that you can fly, online, or with one or more companions. Everyone welcome. A typical route - all the way up the Columbia River into Canada in easy 100 - 140 miles stages. i7 [email protected] | 32GB RAM | EVGA RTX 3080Ti | Maximus Hero VII | 512GB 860 Pro | 512GB 850 Pro | 256GB 840 Pro | 2TB 860 QVO | 1TB 870 EVO | Seagate 3TB Cloud | EVGA 1000 GQ | Win10 Pro | EK Custom water cooling.

April 3, 201214 yr http://www.flightsimstore.com/ Check it out.. Thanks. I missed it the first time because I only looked at boxed products. The sale is on ORBX's download products. I think I am going to get CRM.

April 3, 201214 yr Who owns CRM and does it have the same magic PNW has? Are there any airports for CRM? Own it. Love it. But... It is NOT PNW, any more than NRM is, and that's as it should be, but you may be disappointed for some of the same reasons. In reading some of the other responses, I've come to the conclusion that there's truth to the idea that you may need to know some of these areas to really appreciate them. The intermountain west is my home, and I've been fortunate enough to have spent decades exploring it both from the air and from the ground. I'm still stunned every time I take a virtual flight in parts of Idaho and eastern WA and OR at how very RIGHT Orbx got this part of the world. Wasteland? I'm sorta glad some think so, as it helps keep the crowds down a bit IRL. :-) Seriously, characterizing the area represented by CRM as ANY one thing entirely misses the essence of the region. It's incredibly varied, with high mountains, deep valleys, arid basins, is cut by canyons, covered by extensive lava flows, dotted with craters and geysers and mudpots, oh my! Now, if we could just get a few good airports to spice it all up a bit - though it does sound like Jackson is "in the pipe". Scott

It's incredibly varied, with high mountains, deep valleys, arid basins, is cut by canyons, covered by extensive lava flows, dotted with craters and geysers and mudpots, oh my! +1!! A land of contrasts and harshness. Stunning from any angle. No, it's not PNW, and that's not a bad thing at all. No airports?? Forget those jets and turbo-props (Pilatus PC-12 a possible exception). Go into the USFS charter service and think about aviation grunt work. Fly feed and grain in winter, Forest Service fire and rescue crews in season, Forest Service work and construction crews in your spare time. Look at all the private and USFS strips that are VFR only!! More fun than you can shake a strip chart at!! Dan George (woodhick)Check out Greenbrier Aero Club, the VA for and about the GA pilot.
April 3, 201214 yr Boise and Idaho Falls are plenty big enough are they not? Just about to get CRM myself........ Glenn Ryzen 3700X, X570 Pro Wifi, 32GB 3600mhz RAM, Nvidia Titan Xp "Galactic Empire", RM750x PSU, H700 case, 2x NVMe M2 SSD, 1x SATA SSD
April 3, 201214 yr Boise and Idaho Falls are plenty big enough are they not? Just about to get CRM myself........ Is Sun Valley Airport (Friedman: KSUN) featured in CRM, and the area around it ? I'd be interested in recreating the Boise > Sun Valley flight featured on a real world PC-12 aviation film I have. :) David. >> i7 2600k, 3.4Ghz, (3.8Ghz TurboBoost), 8GB DDR3 RAM, ATI HD 5770 1GB, Win 7 Home Premium 64bit. >> FSX, REX, GEX, UTX, Orbx FTX AU, NZ, US, FlyTampa, UK2000 Xtreme, PMDG, RealAir, MilViz, (some) Carenado, Flight 1, Simcheck "%20alt=
April 3, 201214 yr
Forget those jets and turbo-props (Pilatus PC-12 a possible exception).
For the most part, I agree. But - - if you want to raise your heart rate a bit try setting a BN2 Islander or, better yet, the Quest Kodiak down on some of those USFS strips. It certainly can be done and it's a world of fun!
