April 5, 201214 yr You've just said it yourself? 777 and 747v2.0..what else is there to say? Rgds - Sam Harridann
April 5, 201214 yr Well Sam, an update is an update. Keeping guys up to date with the progress so far, not waiting until the actual release of a product. I think it's reasonable to ask for regular updates, especially from a company who understands the importance of a good relationship between themselves and their customers HowardMSI Mag B650 Tomahawk MB, Ryzen7-7800X3D CPU@5ghz, Arctic AIO II 360 cooler, Nvidia RTX4090 GPU, 32gb DDR5@6000Mhz, SSD/2Tb+SSD/500Gb+OS, Corsair 1000W PSU, LG Ultragear 48"4K, MFG Crosswinds, TQ6 Throttle, Fulcrum One YokeMy FlightSim YouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/@skyhigh776
April 5, 201214 yr Author Hi Guys I am just responding to this! Duncan Posted 25 March 2012 - 10:38 PM Gents- A couple of items that I covered in our presentation that will help to keep things clearer: - Initial release will be the 777-200LR. This airplane was chosen because we have access to it, because it is currently in production and because it has so much in common with the 300ER, which will be the first expansion for the 777 product series. - The LRs were chosen because this simplifies our engine performance and flight model performance equation significantly. - Yes, we will eventually model the 200ERs and their various engine options- provided that there is sufficient community interest. - Yes we will eventually model the other variants provided that there is sufficient community interest. - No, this will not release in June. (LOL! I wish it would, then I could take the summer off!) - To beta test you must have at least 1,000hrs time in type, preferably as PIC, work as a technician, engineer or maintenance manager for in-operation 777s. - Yes there will be an SDK. (it might even be in the initial release!) - Yes there will be a paintkit. - The product line will be FSX only. - Yes we are working with data purchased from Boeing- so yes, the model/nose/tire type/hydraulic fluid/static wick, strobe timing/number of rivets on the leading edge aft of the #6 right outboard slat are correct.... Okay- I think that covers it for now... :LMAO: I am on the road with a very aggressive schedule until the middle of NEXT week- but we will have a more formal update for you at that time... Lots of goodies to share!
April 5, 201214 yr Commercial Member Yeah, I was about to say, you can't get more official than Robert, himself, in those conference videos. Wasn't that just a week or two ago? Kyle Rodgers
April 5, 201214 yr Commercial Member Guys, when RSR said that I don't think he was anticipating a full video of his presentation being put online - that wasn't recorded or commissioned by us. I don't know what more he'd have to say just a week or two later than what was in the presentation... Ryan MaziarzFor fastest support, please submit a ticket at http://support.precisionmanuals.com
April 5, 201214 yr Author Hi Ryan, Point taken. Just a quick question it says on the Avsim report which Tim implied came from RSR that the 777 was only a few months away from beta and that the 747 would be released a couple of months after that. I'm not asking for release dates just wanting to know if this is the case. Is it in alpha testing already seems a bit too soon. Kind regards Duncan

April 5, 201214 yr 747 v2.0 from PMDG? Now that's just made my day. R. Francois Myburgh "I have made a ceaseless effort not to ridicule, not to bewail, not to scorn human actions, but to understand them." Baruch Spinoza (because to quote Bertrand Russell would have been offensive)
April 6, 201214 yr 747 v2.0 from PMDG? Now that's just made my day. Wait until you hear that they're also making the 747-8, and it's a full model (cockpit, engines, everything) I almost fell off my chair when I got that info, and nothing could be more wonderful! Chidiebere Anyahara
April 6, 201214 yr I know what some people are feeling, once you get a big update and pictures you want more and more. Like an addiction! You always want what you can't have I'll be interested to see what the 777 is like at the end of Next Month as that will be little over 2 months since the announcement and I guess we know PMDG can do a lot in that time. Just out of interest how long did PMDG announce the NGX to the actual release? I was never around the forums then so interested to see if it got more attention than the 777? - Luke Pabari
April 6, 201214 yr The Munich videos aren't even a couple weeks old, and you're already asking for updates? Unbelievable. AJ Pongress

Kind regards Duncan I believe RSR said at the convention that the plan is 777 around the end of 2012 and 747 v2 (the 400 part at least) around second quarter 2013. To my knowledge that's the schedule we're currently working under. These are not "release dates" or "promises" etc - they're our own internal targets. If you know anything about PMDG, you know that our release targets are often missed despite our best efforts to meet them. You will not see us give an actual release date on either of these until just before they come out. Ryan MaziarzFor fastest support, please submit a ticket at http://support.precisionmanuals.com
April 6, 201214 yr If you know anything about PMDG, you know that our release targets are often missed despite our best efforts to meet them Ryan, I guess most of forum visitors agree with me, that it is better to be few weeks/months behind the schedule and launch polished, almost finished product than waiting for endless updates. PMDG planes are top quality, JS41 is one of my oldest planes in hangar (I simply delete older models and keeping only order numbers in db) and after approx. 40 months after release I still use this noisy Garrets pretty often. I would like to have the same situation with 747-8i Bartłomiej Ender

Would it be possible to see those 2 Screen caps that were showed at the presentation but not on Avsim? I believe one had a better look at the Overhead and one showing both FMC's with the AIR Page on the MFD? No one here expects a release date, it'll be done when it's done :) - Luke Pabari
