April 26, 201214 yr Bill, I got your first note saying you were gonna make a more detailed pass, but never got a second. I might have missed something...was there a second e-mail? April 26, 201214 yr I asked a question about weather settings in that email. Other than that, I haven't found anything to moan about. It's a great tutorial, and very complete. thanks, Bill
April 26, 201214 yr Very much looking forward to this, Kurt. With all of my RW experience being in piston planes, each of the turbines I've tackled in the sim have presented interesting challenges in learning to fly them "right". I seem to have gotten a fair handle on the C90 (though I'm sure I'm going to discover that some things I'm doing are completely wrong), but still seem to be having a problem with occasional moderate to severe yawing which will suddenly appear, generally in climb. Thanks in advance for your efforts. Scott
April 26, 201214 yr Thanks, Bill. Got it, and replied. Soon as I get home, I'll see if I can't add an explanation of the weather settings, and get the thing up in the library. Scott, the yawing I've experienced happened simultaneously with wild fluctuations in torque, and I was able to attribute it to prop lever calibration. I recalibrated my CH TQ, then selected the prop lever filter check boxes in FSUIPC, and that cleared up the problem. April 26, 201214 yr Thanks for the suggestion Kurt. I'll take a look at this tonight and see if that's where the problem's coming from. Scott

April 27, 201214 yr Thanks Bob! Oh I'm sure Kings and others will be around for a long time.. and I know they are single pilot also. If I was in the market for a plane, the M2 is projected to be at, or lower, then a King 350 in price. So that's what I was getting at. For myself, I think my family would be more impressed with a B200 then a Mustang. Oh yes... 200 with two whistling and thumping propellers on long and sleek nacelles gleaming in the sunlight.... I'm hoping to catch a ride in one at air venture this year (along with the B17 oO). Counting the days!
April 27, 201214 yr The tutorial's been uploaded to the Avsim library. Oddly enough, it's not listed among Friday's Files. However, it is up now, if you do a search for it in the FSX - Miscellaneous files. "Carenado" should be a good search term, and so is my last name, Kalbfleisch. April 27, 201214 yr It's fantastic and easily on par with your Flight1 Mustang tutorial....thanks! Wayne KlocknerUnited Virtual
April 27, 201214 yr Kurt, while your expertise in flying the C90B IFR is easy to see, writing a tutorial about it making for easy understanding and keeping it concise is not always easy to do. The resulting balance of both is most impressive.Thank you for providing this to the C90B sim community. Russ
April 27, 201214 yr This is a fantastic tutorial and very much appreciated. Thank you Kurt! --- Jim ---
April 27, 201214 yr Just did a quick readthrough of the tutorial. Looking forward to flying the route this evening - it's actually a pretty standard new plane route that I use, since it's familiar territory and a "just right" length ending in a familiar approach. Found more than a few things that I probably wasn't doing optimally, so I'm looking forward to seeing how things work out with some modifications. Relative to the yawing I mentioned previously, I did check quadrant calibration last night and didn't see any issues. So I went on to do some careful monitoring during the flight. I didn't think I was being ham-fisted on previous flights, but perhaps I was. With the focus I had waiting to see what torque readings did when I started to yaw - magically and mysteriously <cough> I didn't have the problem. Hmm. Somehow being extra vigilant on power settings and changes helped. Go figure. :-) Thanks again for an excellent tutorial, Kurt. Scott
