P-40 To be Released Wednesday

You're certainly not speaking for me nor a lot of others.

Really don't want to labour the point RR but if you re-read what you said - you did appear to be speaking for others.

I just found the irony of it mildly entertaining as we all still wait for tomorrow's plane...

Well, just because I mention that I'm not the only person somebody else isn't speaking for certainly doesn't mean I think everyone else agrees with me.

Heck, I was generous in wording it in such a way that acknowledges that some people do agree with him. I just pointed out that I'm not the only one who doesn't agree with him. But again, that doesn't mean I think there's only two opinions to choose from.

you just made a statement for everyone, in a post about not making a statement for everyone. haha! sorry, just thought that was funny.

guy's are nut's to buy those planes without a cockpit.

this just in...MS Flight have exceeded their unstated goal of selling 10million copies - of FSX - in just over 90 days - lol

FTX REX and GEX, Carenado, RazBam, and A2A extend heartfelt thanks to all at MS Flight for their marketing genius - lol

I hope X-Plane 10 is better than FSX. :) It also has the advantage that it's still in development.

I don't want to go OT, so briefly: XP 10 and FSX have each one their points of strenght and weakness. I found XP 10 more mature respect to what I expected based on many comments, for example I did not have particular problems with the interface, that for many people is horrible.

One thing I miss of FSX are the missions and the learning center, I used them a lot, I also learned how to land the Cub of Loopy Larry on that terrible moving bus

I don't know about anyone else, but I'm still trying to get over the shock of Microsoft developing ANY kind of new flight sim at all. It was obvious that FSX was intended to be the last of the series... disbanding Aces, program wouldn't run at max options on any computer in existance at the time, wouldn't run well on medium options on average computers either.

I got the impression that Microsoft didn't want to sink much development money into Flight until they could verify there was a market for it. Now that they can see there's a market, they may loosen the purse strings a bit.

Instead, call me crazy, but I am quite convinced that, someday, MS will announce a return to the true Flight Simulator Series. I already wrote several times here in the forum about the comparison between FS and Simcity, with the latter that will return next year, after a long period of absence.

I agree with you that MS did not put much effort (including money) in developing Flight, but I differ in the view about the market success. I suspect that this timid approach will result in poor financial results and strong image loss (look at their FB page), and they will need to reconsider the recent strategy.

No mention of a cockpit. hmm... could mean either yes or no, but this time, I'm 51% certain that it has a VC.

Unfortunately the 49% prevailed

With the by now usual: "No cockpit view is included".

Maybe they could just do a generic cockpit like the standard cars in GT5, or some of the freeware addons for FSX?

You have got to be kidding me... At least the exterior looks good. I bet you like a trillion dollars that the beta forums are gonna be spammed by unhappy former beta testers.

I'm still gonna buy it. Why? Given the fact that it's actually hard to find an old bird in the real world. Plus, I doubt that the "wider audience" would like to see gauges that make basically no sense to them.

These warplanes were made when? Somewhere near WWII. That's probably why there is no VC. They don't want to confuse the"wider audience". That audience consists of more children than adults.

Like that is a positive marketing phrase, LOL. Usually "included" means in addition to the default, guess we'll see tomorrow.

Sad thing is, no matter cockpit or not, as we have seen, many (not me if no cockpit) will still buy it thereby telling MS it's just peachy keen to keep releasing them incomplete.

If we ever get Alaska, it's to bad we can't use older aircraft in Flight. there are quite a few of old bush planes for FS2002 that have no VC

P-40 brings back a great movie I once watched.. Death Race (1973).. In the North African desert in World War II, a damaged American fighter plane that is unable to take off tries to evade and destroy a pursuing ###### tank. All I can remember was the plane could only fly in short hops... Would love to see that one again...

Another nice model with no VC, hmmm.

If the developers are so hung up on warbirds without a flyable cockpit why don't they make a drone?!
