May 2, 201214 yr Hi, I just visited the Black Box Simulations website and I saw that they are developing an A320 series.I also am aware that FlightSimLabs and Aerosoft are also developing A320's. At this point, which one do you guys think will be the best? I am looking for great visuals and very high fidelity aircraft systems Does anyone here have any experience with past Black Box Simulations products? How realistic is the 737 that they offer?
May 2, 201214 yr Flight Sim Labs, I would wager. Look at their Concorde! I was less than impressed with Black Box and their 737. Not to mention the non-existent support I never received for it. ___________________________________________________________________________________ Zachary Waddell -- Caravan Driver -- Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/zwaddell Avsim ToS Avsim Screenshot Rules
May 2, 201214 yr Commercial Member Fslabs no doubt. Their Concorde is really top quality addon so most likely this one will be too.
May 2, 201214 yr Ben, I'm guessing the FS Labs version will turn out to be the best. I have the Aerosoft AirbusX and it's visually very nice and it flies OK.I'm waiting for the advanced version to appear. I purchased the 777 for FS9 from Black Box a few weeks ago. I was never able to get it to work properly and repeated attempts for product support went unanswered. To their credit, they did issue a refund without any hassle. I would have preferred a working 777.
May 2, 201214 yr Ben, Have a look at the 4 videos from the recent Aerosoft Munich conference in which Lefteris gave a presentation/overview of the A320. http://forums.flightsimlabs.com/index.php?/topic/3962-conference-videos/ Bob
May 2, 201214 yr FSLabs is supposedly simulating fluid dynamics and all systems, including the AIRINC protocols, so their Airbus should be amazing. Shane Gavin
May 2, 201214 yr Author FSLabs is supposedly simulating fluid dynamics and all systems, including the AIRINC protocols, so their Airbus should be amazing. I'm crossing my fingers. BUT, it looks to me that the Aerosoft is more aesthetically pleasing than the FSLabs.
May 2, 201214 yr I'm crossing my fingers. BUT, it looks to me that the Aerosoft is more aesthetically pleasing than the FSLabs. I really don't think that will matter with what FSL is advertising. Though FSL's offering is no slouch in the visual department with the preview screenshots. ___________________________________________________________________________________ Zachary Waddell -- Caravan Driver -- Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/zwaddell Avsim ToS Avsim Screenshot Rules
May 2, 201214 yr Here we go: Black Box Simulations used to be PSS, which are the guys, who along with Just Flight, invented the high fedelity (Pro) a/c add-ons. Back then, I flew their Airbus 340 series, Concorde, and Boeing 777-300, and I loved them all-- Great stuff, considering how advanced it was for that time...Nice visuals, and nice over all systems with full CAT 3 landings. And, then along came (many years later) all the other developers who today have manged to better PSS invention. But, to answer your question. BBS will have to put a lot more effort into meeting todays graphics, effects and a/c systems; Aerosoft Airbus X is visually stunning, hopefully with the advanced system comming up, it will be one of the top of the line Airbus we will ever see. FSLabs Airbus: Yes they created the Concorde, which over all it was nice; however, in my opinion the graphics were too dull and "bulky" which unfortunately made me uninstall it and never used it again. Again, this was my experience and it is not necessarily others opinions. However, if they manage to develop an Airbus series A-320-- A340-300 (600), I guarantee you they will become the world's best (BEST) a/c developer! Why I say this? Well, because no one has managed to simulate the Airbus to a high standard both visually and system-wise. Everyone has done Boeings, Cessnas, gliders, scooters, lawnmowers, etc. etc. So, if they manage to reach this height, they will easily be on top of PMDG...Again ,Airbuses are for the Brave-at-Heart, only !!! So help you, God !!!!!!
May 2, 201214 yr I'm crossing my fingers. BUT, it looks to me that the Aerosoft is more aesthetically pleasing than the FSLabs. +1 It looks better than FS labs thats for sure. Simon
May 2, 201214 yr Well i just pre-ordered the BBS bus, fingers crossed they come up with the goods......... Chris Howard
May 3, 201214 yr I'm crossing my fingers. BUT, it looks to me that the Aerosoft is more aesthetically pleasing than the FSLabs. I think the biggest visual drawback with the Aerosoft Airbus X is the PFD/ND font. It's very irritating because it stands out a lot especially when the rest of the VC is so realistically crafted. I told them about it a few years ago before the addon was released and they replied "Oh well it's WIP" and guess what they didn't bother to fix it before release. Now they're developing the Airbus Extended and they still haven't fixed the font. I mean how hard can it be to make a custom font?
May 3, 201214 yr Well i just pre-ordered the BBS bus, fingers crossed they come up with the goods......... This renders you to be watched closely after product release. Awaiting your review, Chris. From previous releases, the FSL folks no doubt have an edge on the whole systems and fidelity case. Their Concorde shows that impressively in my eyes. I'd say that Aerosoft now heads for the middle ground, using the great optics and sounds of the light version and now adding the stuff really rendering it an Airbus. I still recall their 'the default FBW system looked good enough for us' statement. Means I hope to never see that one again when it comes to any 'extended' release. :P So BB is the wildcard for me. But since their pricing aims for the highest levels, maybe their overall package impression does too. Lets hope for the best. Nice to see 2012 becoming a potential (detailed) Airbus in FSX year.
May 3, 201214 yr Does everybody else have trouble with the FSLabs website? I haven't seen any of their WIP's because the only page on their website that loads is the homepage--I can't connect to any others... -Bram Osterhout
May 3, 201214 yr FSL website is fine here, that's on Firefox and IE. Al Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here
