Saitek Pro Flight and Extra Quadrant

Featured Replies

Recently my X52 Pro bit the dust and this time around I am thinking about getting the Saitek Pro Flight with an Extra Quadrant. This will be perfect for the 3 PMDG planes a Fly. Also have the Saitek Rudder pedals already and the registered version of FSUIPIC..

I will be flying the PMDG 737-NGX, MD-11 and 747. Has anyone had any problems with this configuration and the PMDG planes or am I good to go?

Paul Deemer

I just ordered one as well waiting for it so arrive from Amazon so I can finally fly the NGX. There are a ton of good guides out there to configure it. If you've got a pay version of FSUIPC that's the key. You can configure it to do anything you could possibly want.

I use the exact setup.

Pro Flight Yoke with an extra Saitek throttle quad, Saitek pedals and registered FSUIPC.

No problems. Works great.

Is FSUIPC mandatory ? I had CH Eclipse and it is biting the dust too. But for configuring it I just had the Ch control manager software and no need for FSUIPC.

Why is the FSUIPC for ? and can it be done without it ?

You can do without fsuipc to a degree, but fsuipc is a module that allows integration of fs with different programs and hardware...for example people building their own home cockpit, etc.

I use the setup, eliminates control spikes, program all buttons and levers the way i want them, and create profiles for each aircraft type. It has been around a very long time and is updated regularly.

Tnx for info. Is FSUIPC required to handle reverse thrust with the throttle quadrant ?

Or can it be done through the yoke's software (ST) ?

Yo can do it via yoke's software, but for some other things like speedbrake or flaps lever you need FSUIPC.

Thought those can still be programmed in FSX

In my humble opinion a registered version of FSUIPC should be one of the first addons you purchase. It can do so many things beyond configuring your controls it's not even funny. I couldn't live without it.

My advice is that if you buy anything else than a joystick for FSX, then buy FSUIPC.

It will allow multiple calibration profiles and it will allow you to caltibrate your flight controls and throttles way more precise than FSX default control settings.

It takes some time to learn how to do those little neat things you wish you could do, however, after some trial and error, and tutorial reading, FSUIPC is a very powerful tool.

Furthermore, the support you gete from Pete D as his customer is flawless! :)

how?

If you go to "Controls" -> TAB "Control Axis".

In the "Controller Type" drop down box, select your controller.

Scroll down and you see "Flaps Axis" and "Spoiler Axis"

There you can set up all moving axis for FS.

Sorry, but wrong... I have Proflight Yoke System + Saitek Rudder Pedals + 2 throttle Quadrants and NO need Fsuipc !

On quadrant I have throttle, speedbrake, flaps lever and so...
