May 6, 201214 yr Hi, I just recently purchased KLAX from FSDreamTeam. The main issue I am having is the performance. I have a powerful system and this one is bringing me down into the teens. I have followed Word Not Allowed's guide already and I am wondering if anyone has any clues on how to improve my FPS.
May 6, 201214 yr Heck of a system I dont see how it could not handle klax, I dont seem to have any problems with it, not sure on this one. Rich Sennett

May 6, 201214 yr Author What are your traffic settings? I've got UT2 set to 40%. I see 1 FPS difference with it turned on and with it off. Traffic isn't the culprit.
May 6, 201214 yr Hmmm, I definitely get lower fps than usual with this scenery but usually not into the teens unless I'm in a few addons like NGX, Mustang etc... Are you getting into the teens with resource hungry addons? If so I'd say it's normal (well normal to me) | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |

May 6, 201214 yr Commercial Member Guess I'll cross that one of my wish list until they fix it. Regards, Dave Opper HiFi Support Manager
May 6, 201214 yr I am glad you posted this, I love FSDT airports and this was on my wish list. I think I will monitor what is going on before I make the investment. Bryan Wallis aka "fltsimguy" Maple Bay, British Columbia Near CAM3
May 6, 201214 yr Moderator One thing that can hamper your FPS or make FSDT's KDFW and KLAX stutter really bad is if you have Transparency AA turned on. Although I dont use the newer Inspector, I still use nHancer and per Umberto's recommendation I turned off Transparency AA and it cleared up all the problems. On my older rig I get a pretty solid 20+ FPS with 75% or higher AI and the NGX. Apparently it has something to do with the way they use the shaders at these two airports that makes them run better if you have Transparency AA turned off and truth be told, at least on my rig with settings that are similar to Ryans or Nicks nHancer setup, I dont even really notice and visual IQ difference with it turned off. If you want a better explanation of why it needs to be turned off at these two airports, ask Umberto. My explanation was just from something I remember him saying a few times. POST EDIT: Here's one post where they talk about turning it off. http://www.fsdreamte...hp?topic=4382.0 Avsim Board of Directors | Avsim Forums Moderator
May 7, 201214 yr Author turned off Transparency AA and it cleared up all the problems. It tripled my FPS to have SGSS turned off. I don't mind the slight loss of IQ for the massive performance gains. Thanks so much!

I have or use Inspector, I have an Antialiasing - Transparency Supersampling turned on 2x supersample which is what has been recommended. Are you saying that this should be turned off? Look here:http://naturalviolen....com/nvidia.htm SGSS is applied to the whole scene, whereas SS is only applied to the transperancies. This is why SGSS is such a performance hit. DIMITRI
