May 9, 201214 yr I guess we all tend to fly where we live, so although I love mountain flying (as in a previous post I made), I still fly around my home town a lot (NYC). X-plane has great looking mountains, but is rather lacking in urban or city scenery. I’m told this is being worked on, but for now, I’ve gone ahead and ported one of my favorite FSX add-on scenery’s to X-plane to liven up the city, plus I bought KLGA for XP and a few freeware add-ons to fill in the blanks. I pleased the result. Though not perfect by any stretch, (there are a few graphic anomalies) but it will hold me over until Xplane X matures a little more. Rob

Thanks, But actualy, since the city is a port from Aerosofts Manhattan X, you can get simular results in FSX with this scenery. Im just using it with X-Plane 10 in these shots. I should also add that I also had the FS9 version of Aerosofts Manhattan and it was equally good. Rob

Rob, I was thinking abut purchasing Manhattan X for FSX since it is on sale this week. I have Manhattan for FS9, which I enjoyed. I would go ahead and get it for FSX but afraid it would be too hard on my frames with the system I have. May 10, 201214 yr Author Aerosoft Manhattan X is one of their best sceneries IMO. Even though its got tons of buildings, its still pretty good on Frames. That being said, NYC is tough on frames to begin with . You got 3 major airports in close proximity and the city in between. Even without Manhattan X, frames are challenging in this area. IN FSX, I always used KLGA as a starting point when configuring my settings, because if I can get good frames there, everywhere else will be a walk in the park. Same hold true for XP, but for some reason in XP my frames are much higher. I purchased the FS9 version way back and the FSX version when it first came out and I couldnt recomend it high enough. its very well done scenery and very well optimized. Now that its on sale Go get it! Rob
