May 18, 201214 yr Hey guys, just a little qestion: After Facebook is now officially being traded at NASDAQ, is someone getting some shares of it? Best regards, Steffen Fight time: NGX 737-700: 37,0h; -800: 47,2h
May 18, 201214 yr Bono made 1.5 billion dollars in facebook shares today.. Not sure how like. Jack Cannon
May 18, 201214 yr I am staying away. Traders will have fun with it for a little while however inevitably this 'Bubble' will become junk stock. I am 40 years old and out of the loop but you have to take a look at what the 12 - 15 year olds are getting into right now as the future trend for social media. Me thinks the kids that age are becoming anti-facebook and too cool for that stuff. When the next generation has no interest in it then it's days will be numbered. Us AVSIM types are not cool because we still use these old school forums to socialize, we are a bunch of dinosaurs :LMAO: Matthew Kane I'm Dyslexic, what's an error to you is not to me

May 19, 201214 yr Moderator Hey guys, just a little qestion: After Facebook is now officially being traded at NASDAQ, is someone getting some shares of it? I got long at around $38.50, then dumped it at $41.25. Frankly I would feel more comfortable being short than being long this stock, but its hard to short since the shares are hard to borrow to short. Once options start trading for FB I will probably either sell naked calls or sell puts way below the strike and collect the premuim. Personally, I dont feel comfortable being long FB or many other stocks at this point unless I owned some protection, but would prefer to either be flat or short stocks or indexes via calls or ETF's. Just my .02 cents though. If you decide to buy it just make sure to set a stop since you cant buy options yet for protection or keep a real close eye on it so you can get out. May 20, 201214 yr Wow, can you believe that it was the 3rd largest IPO in US history? i7-6700K @ 4.5 GHz, 16 GB DDR4-2400 MHz, GTX 1070 8GB
May 20, 201214 yr I like to stay with things that make actual tangible products, Coke, Boeing, Google, McDonald's, WalMart... Chris Miller
May 20, 201214 yr Author Wow, can you believe that it was the 3rd largest IPO in US history? Yeah but for that point it was pretty weak. Not even 1% growth at the end of the day. Best regards, Steffen Fight time: NGX 737-700: 37,0h; -800: 47,2h
May 20, 201214 yr Facebook is no less tangible than the Google search engine or a Microsoft Windows O.S. ... "Society has become so fake that the truth actually bothers people".
May 20, 201214 yr I like to stay with things that make actual tangible products, Coke, Boeing, Google, McDonald's, WalMart... Although I may regret it someday I feel exactly the same way. Facebook is no less tangible than the Google search engine or a Microsoft Windows O.S. ... My MS W7 came in a box, I held it in my hands, maby not so much google, but they are more then just a search engine.
May 20, 201214 yr Yeah but for that point it was pretty weak. Not even 1% growth at the end of the day. Oh well, it's still a lot of money. Did you hear that he also got married? i7-6700K @ 4.5 GHz, 16 GB DDR4-2400 MHz, GTX 1070 8GB
May 20, 201214 yr My MS W7 came in a box, I held it in my hands But you did not pay for the box and the CD of your W7, you paid for the millions of "untangible" lines of code. "Society has become so fake that the truth actually bothers people".
May 20, 201214 yr But you did not pay for the box and the CD of your W7, you paid for the millions of "untangible" lines of code. Yes but its the fact that its sold on store shelves, I can see it, touch it, slip the cd into my pc and install it, they come out with new versions etc etc. Nothing against facebook, Im sure when its trading at $600 a share I will join others out on a ledge. It is a rather unique company, its just hard to tell what to think of it, from an investors point of view.
May 20, 201214 yr Author Oh well, it's still a lot of money. Did you hear that he also got married? Yes, I did. I didn´t expect that. It is a rather unique company, its just hard to tell what to think of it, from an investors point of view. You´re right, it´s really something different and unique. It can be the biggest success story since google or it can fail and vanish like myspace or any other social media. I think it´ll be very difficult to get a lot of money out of something which has to look and work in a way the members feel good and willing to stay.
