QWSim 146 Released

Featured Replies

Hey, mad dog!

Is there a key assignment option (essential for me, as I have some hardware for my sim)?
Is there any way to assign keypresses to hardware either by a keymapping app or a simple .ini file.

Since our question has not been answered, it means the answer. Unfortunately.

But I have also seen your post at the QW forum and see you are going to try FSUIPC mouse macros. Please be so kind and let me know how it goes, mate.

I would really love to know since I have never never used the macros, as I always simply assign FSUIPC key combos and wirte them into aircraft's key menu.

I would sincerely love to give this addon a try and at the same time support FS9 development, especially that it looks gorgeous in the screens and videos.

But this is not a cheap product and we have 2012, so I would rather think key assignment is a hard standard. I can't control my autopilots (and more) with mouse clicks anymore!

I remember Ernie promising me to give the key assignment a thought in case of 757, but it has never happened and is still no option.

By the way, guys, isn't there a cargo (QT) option now?

It is not a stopover of course, just curious.

Everything I'm hearing and seeing about this products says "Go for it!" My only hesitation is that on my system at least, I have had a performance problem with the QW 757 cockpit views - both 2D but even more so in VC. I was not alone in that - even the AVSIM reviewer mentioned it and confirmed it in a PM. But I got jumped on pretty hard by some folks who thought I was attacking the product --- which I was not, or not intentionally. It was just that the FPS hit was too much on my system for me to enjoy the product, whereas I get very acceptable performance on many other, far more complex aircraft. So I'm a bit nervous about diving in until I hear a few more users comment on FPS in the cockpit views, especially VC. (Which looks amazing BTW!) I really DO want to purchase this - it looks fantastic. But I'm just a bit "gun shy.."

I'm with Rafal on the GoFlight support issue also... I have had zero success with FSUIPC key mapping - I guess I'm too old-school to understand the instructions. So for me, ability to use GoFlight as per iFly, DF727, Aerowork B200 etc etc has become pretty much a "must have" item... I do fly a few aircraft without it, like LevelD and F1 ATR, but I notice that I use them far less frequently than I otherwise would because of the requirement to use mouse clicks instead of my GoFlight modules

Ian,

Can't speak for anyone else, but the frames in this plane are excellent. I do not notice a difference between the 2d and the VC. I had the same issue as you with the 757, however, I think QW has come a long way in how the panels are programmed (at least is seems so to me), and it has made for a truly wonderful addition to my hangar. It is well worth the purchase price (IMHO) contrary to what some have said regarding the cost.

Regards,

Joe Esposito

Thanks Joe. This is the reassurance I was hoping to hear. The 757 was a huge disappointment for me as there was so much about the entire product that was excellent - except the wild fluctuations of FPS down into the mid teens when in VC and only slightly less in 2D cockpit. It sounds like the 146 is a winner and I'm pretty sure I'll be buying it before the week is out

Cheers

Ian

Ian,

Remember, it's sold by Flight 1, so if it doesn't work well on your system, you can get a refund. No questions asked.

Regarding the price, with $48, you'll get these:

British Aerospace BAe146-100

British Aerospace BAe146-200

British Aerospace BAe146-300

British Aerospace Avro RJ70

British Aerospace Avro RJ85

British Aerospace Avro RJ100

In addition, for fs9 simmer, a new fs9 add on is not something you may often encounter in the future as the vast majority of devs are migrating to FSX. Unlike fsx users, there are and will be tons of add on coming, so yes when it gets pricey they need sometime to consider. That's not the case for FS9 simmer. We don't have many options really. There are only 2 fs9-friendly developers out there keep supporting our platform, Qwings and Airsimmer. Maybe, just maybe, 146 is the only fs9/fsx aircraft released in 2012.

You don't just purchase to satisfy your intellectual hunger, but also keeping fs9 alive by supporting them, thus supporting us fs9 simmer, so they will remain to stay, we may see more add ons for fs9 in the not so bright future.

Al, is it worth £30? I value your opinion. ;)

Actually, I would say it is a bit of a bargain for thirty quid: You get several RJ variants and several 146 variants, very nice external models, a nice VC, 2D panels, a freebie upgrade for an FSX version which will presumably only be better, it has pretty much all the systems a hard core simmer would want, but it is not desperately hard to operate. It has a good FMC, gets good frame rates, flies nicely, has cabin announcement sounds, comes with the Flight 1 money back guarantee, and the security of their Flight 1 Wrapper system in case you lose your exe file. Support is good, notably becaue FS legends such as Ernie are involved with it, you can expect a lot of repaints, especially since both FSX and FS9 repaints are likely to be somewhat transferable or at least usable as the basis for a simple conversion.

If anyone can show me another newly-made FS airliner which offers all that for thirty notes, I'll show my &@($* in the street.

If you do, can you please post the screenshot?

Even if you can think of one keep it to yourself. I'm not sure I'm up to the visual of that! :LMAO:

I had the same problems you had with the 757 but the last update cured the problem for me. Have you ever tried the latest version of the 757 that allows you to adjust the gauge refresh rate?

FS2020

Alienware Aurora R11 10th Gen Intel Core i7 10700F - Windows 11 Home 32GB Ram
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Super OC 16GB - Pimax Crystal Light VR

Even if you can think of one keep it to yourself. I'm not sure I'm up to the visual of that! :LMAO:

agree! no visual, a review will do

Actually, I'll skip the review as well. A discreet silence is probably the best option! LOL

I will give that a try. I do have the latest version but wasn't aware of the ability to change the gauge refresh rate. I hope it does the trick as I really would enjoy having a decent 757 in the hangar

Airsimmer????

I'd put iFly light years ahead of Airsimmer.

Even though I tend to fly real world routes, and RJ's are getting few and far between. I decided to purchase the Avro.

I'm glad I did, getting used to her she is a real joy to fly, there are a few small complaints but those are personal quirks.

Worth the price IMHO and not to mention free upgrades when the 146 comes out.

this addon for fs9 by QW is a must buy for all owners of fs9/fsx(free upgrade), it will blow your flaps off! :LMAO:

I wasn't interested in hearing any preferences nor comparisons with Quantum Physics scenario. I jotted down the developers which are still supporting fs9. So some people may buy this 146 for sentimental reason
