REX Essential Released!

Featured Replies

Sorry for the dumb question guys, but how do I tell if I have the Overdrive version? I have REX2 version number 2.3.2010.1027...no mention of "overdrive" anywhere. I can't remember if I downloaded that version!

I'm pretty sure that's just REX 2. OD is, I think, 2.5.2010.1027

Am I supposed to have received an email about the release of REX Essentials? Since I have Overdrive installed, I will have to wait for the OD version of Essentials, but I just want to be sure that I will be able to access the download link when it is released. I posted in that serial number confirmation thread ages ago...

@Christopher - If you originally purchased REX from FlightSimStore you can log on to your account and download the full version of REX Ess. You can have a side by side install of REX + OD and REX Ess. As long as you install REX Ess it is own folder. Otherwise if you want to upgrade REX + OD you will have to wait until we release the REX Ess + OD upgrade.

@Paul - The build # you have is fine for you to install the upgrade. You do not have Overdrive installed.

@Manny - Did you install the full version or the upgrade? If you installed the upgrade what was the process in which you installed the upgrade?

I am giving it a go as I type this.

The GUI is well done and easy to use.

The cloud depiction seems great, as well as the visibility.

But I am experiencing some spikes (up and down) of the barometric pressure. Anyone else having that problem?

Thank you for this update REX staff. I think you have a winner here.

I went here

...rex-essentials-upgrade-release

I downloaded the upgrade, unzipped and installed it.. Into its own folder. I now have two folders in Program Install folder. One for the previous version and now a new one for this version

I can't remember where I purchased REX2, apart from the fact that I did it from the main REX2 forum. It was the Christmas sale.

Upgrade must be installed into existing REX2 folder. This isn't standalone product. Suitable information about upgrading procedure you may find here: http://www.realenvir...tion-documents/

Oh Lord, I am still on REX version 1.

Tsk Tsk.. I am downloading the full version now;.

What would be the point in having two 'side by side' installs as suggested previously?

Windows 10 (x64) - X-Plane 11 - M/B: Asus ROG Maximus IX Hero - CPU: i7 7700k (@5.0GHz) - RAM: 32Gb Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 @ 3200MHz - Video: GTX1080ti - Cooling: Custom water loop (EK 140 Revo D5 pump/res combo, EK EVO CPU block, EK XE360 Rad)

I do intend to remove the older one when everything from the new version is installed successfully.

And If I have to remove the older version, I'd like to know before I Install the new one.

Manny, Reed advised me that you could in fact do this, AS LONG as it wasn't installed in the SAME folder.

Christoper, was it the USB drive you purchased with all REX products?

I uninstalled REX2+OD. Downloaded REXE with out any problem,

I started to install "dotnet.fx.exe" application, I received the following Error msg:

"Error, Cannot install on a 64 bit operating system.

This product is not supported on a 64-bit operating system. Set up will now exit"

Will you please advise ,what is going on?

Thanks Tim.

I received the following msg also:
