May 31, 201214 yr Nice to see what looks to be a really detailed version of this bird progressing; the F-86 is my favourite jet fighter of all time, and I should imagine it is for a lot of people here on Avsim. Personally, I fell in love with the Sabre after I saw the 1958 movie The Hunters when I was a young lad, and I still love that movie too, especially for its extremely authentic aerial sequences, where proper dogfighting skills such as high yo-yos and scissors rolls are well demonstrated. Such aerial authenticity means one can forgive the makers using the F-84 Thunderstreak as a stand in for the MiG-15, and even tolerate the slightly cheesy love triangle which was not in the original novel. If you've never seen the movie and get the chance to do so, I recommend it. Al I am the son of a long retired air force pilot....saw the Hunters while stationed in Metz France 1956-1960. Also love this plane and take it up in the sim quite regularly. My favourite paint job is the Golden Hawks...the Canadian aerobatic team which was based in New Brunswick just down the road from where we were living at that time.
