June 14, 201213 yr Thanks for that assessment Ken. It's good to see an intelligent pilot's take on the Legacy. In fact we had a hard time finding Legacy pilots that also were familiar with FSX, so a lot of the FDE was guess work. On the turbulence, stability and yaw with p-factor, FSX is limited in the way it handles turbulence. It is very much linked to the inertia settings. With very low inertia set, you tend to have over-controlling and limited finesse with a standard joystick that has barely 1 inch throw in any direction, as opposed to ten times that in many actual aircraft. So I set a slightly higher inertia value than was strictly true. This also affects the way turbulence acts on the aircraft. But oddly, when I have flown real GA aircraft or gliders in fairly stable and still air, I see perfectly smooth flight. I think perhaps some expect that small GA aircraft jerk around a lot. They don't in calm conditions and I also think this often false perception is the result of seeing YouTube videos of GA aircraft where the camera shake is not the same as looking live where the eyes and brain actually compensate for movement. Ideally we'd have liked the Legacy to be a little more reactive in turbulence but that would have compromised more important basic handling. The Yaw / pfactor could have been stronger, but again FSX is quite limited in this regard, applying a rather basic movement which is not entirely convincing anyway, and at higher angles of attack the p-factor is exaggerated compared with lower AoA. June 14, 201213 yr I took my first flight with her over the weekend and found it to be nothing short of wonderful. I really loved everything about it and can't wait for my next ride. Thanks for the quality products RealAir. - Aaron
June 15, 201213 yr Hi Guys, can´t wait for the Paintkit....so i made already some previews of 2 paints wich i had planned to do. Dont worry about the Reg-Numbers, there will be none when i offer them for downloading. Tristan Very nice liveries. The Kit will be out soon. June 15, 201213 yr Sounds great Rob! And thanx for Your kind words about the liveries. btw, did You (sent to Sean) received my email about the two grafix-errors in the 3D-Model? Tristan

June 16, 201213 yr Just got it today, its a beaut! Can't wait for the C172...but the questions begs...will we see a big brother of the 172? a real nice C185 or 206 perhaps? ;)

June 16, 201213 yr Hi George, as soon as the Paintkit is out, i ll redo them for the public. When that is done, i ll post the download link here.....promise...heheh Tristan

June 17, 201213 yr I must conclude that for a single engine high performance aircraft, this one flies in every way that I would anticipate with perhaps a small squabble that it does not model yaw in a climb due to p-effect and torque. But, that is a very minor observation and was made without knowing first hand whether this effect actually appears on the real airplane. Thinking about this, as I only had my RV6A to compare..........which is a bit slower than the Lancair. For takeoff, I'd use lots of right rudder, as my tail was the shorter version. But during a extended climb after the initial climbout.............I don't remember pushing on the right rudder that much. Must be due to the airspeed getting high rather quickly, along with the right canted engine mount, and fixed tab on the rudder. Quite honestly, since the takeoff & initial climb were very noticeable in regards to using right rudder to maintain a runway heading..................I just don't remember ever thinking about that much right rudder afterwards. But then, I wasn't consciously testing for a sim, either. After initial test flights, I did have to add the trim tab for cruise, so I was certainly thinking about yaw. L.Adamson
June 20, 201213 yr Hello friends, just in case anyone is interested what are the differences between low, med and hi detail models in the RA configurator, I decided to find out. I have imported fsx model to my 3D application just to see where are the actual differences and what is missing on lower models. Images are pretty big so I uploaded them on my flickr, links only. First, look at the whole model: http://farm6.staticf...984e9916d_k.jpg High and medium model is pretty the same thing and low model only missing details like door handle and a few antennaes. Textures remains the same for all variations of course. Looking at the front of the aircraft... http://farm6.staticf...08587fc01_b.jpg ...we can see that low model has more simple propeller and there's no engine inside. No big deal in my opinion. Biggest difference comes when looking at the cockpit (please note, this is NOT virtual cockpit, we are looking inside from external view): http://farm8.staticf...f0604e2b6_k.jpg Low model is really plain, gauges are only simple textures. If you are having performance issues, stick with this variation. As posted above, there are really small differences on the external model and how often are you looking inside the cabin? Model is still going to look awesome and you could save yourself some fps. Medium detailed variation has 3D gauges and there is much more detail (i know about that deformed hand, it's just export bug). Gauges and switches are animated and shows actual information. High model has some more polygons while the GPS, radios and "that display on the right" are also animated (unlike med. model), so it's like virtual cockpit viewed from the exterior. If you are curious about polycounts: High: ~375k Medium: ~300k Low: ~100k Not sure if this gonna help somebody, but I was really bored Cheers, George.

My "fast" airplane is a 310R and being a piston twin it produces very significant p-effect and torque on takeoff and in the climb out due to the asymetric engine mounting, especially the right engine. So, having the thrust on the centerline can certainly tame that down so I certainly appreciate your feedback on that one. Cheers, Ken
June 21, 201213 yr This is a stunner. Love the red and black one above. Where can one get it? June 21, 201213 yr N513TM owned by Tom McReynolds of Palo Alta Ca. This aircraft was souped up and customized by Aerochia. N513TM started off as a normally aspirated 550 and they converted it into a Turbo Super Legacy. When the paint kit is out I'll upload it. The World is divided into two groups. Those who say "Give me a link" and those that provide the link. WWG1WGA
