Thank you Rob & RealAir, it's a perfect plane to fly. Goes faster than my real Cessna but otherwise I found some similarity to it.

My sim crashes when I select double GNS530 configuration (in fact, if I select any configuration at all) at the plane select... Don't know why.

 

I am SO unhappy. I will "probably" "never" fly another GA again.

 

WOW! OMG! What a masterful job! Simply OUTSTANDING! The best of the best! AVSIM will need a higher than "gold award" for this one. This is truly an amazing airplane. I can NOT stop smiling. Thanks Rob!

Sorry for hijacking this post. Purchased the Lancair today. I am getting a weird sound that loops.

I start in cold and dark and as soon as I put the mixture at full rich a loud bang start. It just loops without the engine running.

 

I have no idea why this is happening.

Any ideas ?

Hi Limp,

 

You have two issues here. First, try not loading cold and dark, but opt for ready to taxi, then check the sounds are not looping. As the custom sound gauge gets loaded it might "quote" a couple of sounds while it initialises them. If you then get any unwanted sound please check you do not have a lever assigned to the spoilers. They will only work by using the panel switch or pressing the standard / key in FSX. Also check that you have the correct driver running your direct x sound. There are two options at least in your FSX sound menu, and again more options in your windows sound set up.

 

Now back to cold and dark. This works somewhat conditionally on a number of things. FSX needs a clean start, meaning nothing from a previous flight or aircraft in its cache, and the traditional way to avoid this was first to load a default aircraft like the C172, but this is not so necessary nowadays. However a quick reload of the Legacy with one key press should load cold and dark cleanly. To do this go to the control/assignments with FSX running and scroll down until you see "AIRCRAFT(reload)" in the list and assign a spare key or button to reload.Once you have done this it works every time and literally takes a second to press and reload. Now try cold and dark as an option and reload the Legacy. You do not have to restart FSX to do this.

We know for absolute certain that our GNS integration works flawlessly in the Legacy. Therefore I reckon either you are trying something that RXP is not allowing, not the Legacy, or you are not going through the right procedure. In the flying guide there is a very detailed description of how to integrate these gauges and what combinations you can use. I recommend reading this several times over if there is the slightest confusion.

Problem sorted out it seems. I had two axis assigned to spoilers...

Cold and dark works fine as well...

 

I saw in the documentation that it stated not to use an analogue controller for the spoilers but figured out that if I didn't use them it wouldn't be a problem :P

 

My bad ;)

 

Now I'll enjoy this baby !

OK Guys in-lighten me,

The Orbx Lancair was well done but left me cold, waste of time. I have deleted all my GA apart from RV-7 and RealAir DukeT.

I don't want to waste any-more money on "another" flavour of the month" GA. But if it's something else I want to know.

 

So does this feel a lifeless plastic bubble with bad view looking forward like the Orbx felt to me, just my opinion ofc(orbx did a great job just did not like there lancair)

Does it really stand out from the crowd. Like A2A Acc-sim do and the RealAir DukeT does.

Does it have VC button sounds, did not like that about the Duke but that's fixed now.

 

Is this a real long time keeper? come on guys, hand on heart is it a Keeper?

Yup, that's why we mention it three times in the guide and once in the FAQ;) If you have anything assigned to a lever then the slightest movement, vibration of your desk or even a fly settling on the lever (!!!) could trigger it, and the spoilers will then wrongly trigger a position that is not fully closed or fully open. The spoilers are designed to be either fully out or fully in, as they are in the real aircraft.

100% YES! This is an instant classic. For me it's the best airplane I've ever purchased for FSX. Why? I'll probably never get tired of it.

 

My only wish would be to have the VC effects in the RV7. I'm just fond of VC rain effects.
