July 9, 201213 yr It is ironic. Two of the most widely used commercial aircraft and no good models. CRJ series and Dash 8. Reckon you could substiture a DC-6 for their routes. (I wont comment on that recent Wilco CRJ deal. Well, ok, they COULD have had a gold mind)
July 9, 201213 yr My opinion is that the CRJ is rather boring, and ugly, inside and out. If PMDG were to do some sort of regional jet, or any developer to do a highly detailed regional jet I'd rather see an Embraer E-Series. I know Wilco has done them, but they're junk. Derek
July 11, 201213 yr The best ever CRJ200 is created and constantly being refined for X-plane 9, now 10.. Maybe worth it to check it out as I don't see CRJ200 coming form PMDG in the next 2 years. Regards, Martin Martinov / VATSIM 1207931
July 12, 201213 yr I was working that flight 2 weeks ago maybe I had you on my flight Ryan! Small world. KDLH to KORD...poor Duluth hope all that mess gets cleaned up. Having 3500 hours in a CRJ-200 it really is a shame that there isn't a good quality sim out there that models it. If you want an airline career in the US odds are very good you will end up flying one at some point in time. And it really is a blast to fly. I've had lots of friends that have gone on to bigger and better aircraft but they all miss the CRJ...its the most advanced aircraft that does nothing for you ; ) No VNAV lots of handflying. I'd love to see a well reproduced one, but I don't think it will be PMDG that does it. Its a different airplane for sure, its always great seeing jumpseaters cringe as you come in nose low at 145 knots. Landing a 200 is a challenge cause there is nothing else out there that lands like it commercial aviation...no leading edge devices....takes a gentle touch but the trailing A bar gear helps alot....I digress...If your flight was smooth with no problems it was me Ryan...if it sucked I was wasn't flying it ; )
July 12, 201213 yr I'm using Javier Rollon's CRJ-200 in X-Plane 10, and it's a pleasure to fly. My only aircraft in FSX is the NGX because they set the bar so high. I would love to see PMDG reproduce a regional jet at some point, but I would want it to be one that will be used in the real world for a few years to come. The CRJ-200 is being phased out mainly because fuel prices and 50-seat jets are not getting along. A CRJ-700/900/1000 package would be nice. I see a lot of CRJs here in the Washington D.C. at both airports. Landing a 200 is a challenge cause there is nothing else out there that lands like it commercial aviation...no leading edge devices.... I've got a nice vid from the jumpseat during a landing in MEM where the IOE F/O nearly drove the nose gear through the runway. Thankfully, the CA ######ed a lap full of yoke at the "TEN" callout and prevented what would have been a gnarly bounce a la the FedEX MD-11 in Narita. Edit: Good lord...when did that become a bad word? Okay..."The CA grabbed..."
July 17, 201213 yr Sorry but that is a very crude statement you made there. It is quite clear that you never read our blog because if you did you would find our website at www.awgsim.co.uk and it cost more than $10 to build and maintain it. Another unjusitified statement made about us using WordPress for our blog, we are a small team of 5 developers working on the CRJ-200 project and some of our devs have other commitments aside from FSX development and we figured that WordPress provided us with a robust and realible platoform which all our developers knew how to use. If we had of went to another blogging platform it would have meant we need to learn a new user interface which takes precious time away from development. We don't cut corners, we just use what ever platform we can to deliver you with effective communication channels quickly and easily while allowing us to focus on what we are meant to be doing, developing the CRJ-200! don't want to put you guys down at all... I don't think just because of your website it's going to be a bad product. I just hope it is lol! Just don't take shortcuts with the CRJ. Also make sure to do the wingflex correctly. I have flew on the CRJ So many times, and the wingflex is very precise. Very short and quick flexing of the wings because they are so small. The wings don't really flex while taxiing, like the 737's do, but they do flex in the air quite a bit. There's nothing I hate more than an airplane without wingflex. Takes about 60% of the realism out of the experience.

July 17, 201213 yr Good question, but it still seems the 70-seat or higher regional jets is the market airlines are looking more at. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder! I used to think the 737 was the most ugly thing I have ever seen... until PMDG developed it!The CRJ, (if you've ever rode on it) is unique because it's so small that it's just about the only plane that gives you a true sense of the groundspeed that you are going on takeoff.. and the sound of the CRJ-200 is a very unique sound. Here is a great video with CRJ-200 sound.Put your headphones on and listen to this video. It's like music to my earsIt also gives you an idea on how many crj's there are!
July 17, 201213 yr I fully support Ryan (Tabs) for going as far as suggesting the CRJ as a future project. As with the NGX, it would be great for PMDG to reproduce the entire CRJ lineup. We just have to let them know that there is a demand, and perhaps they'll make it. Just remember how much demand there was for a 777 before it was announced. I think if people get to know the CRJ and realize there is NO high fidelity product out there, they'll wish for it to be developed by PMDG. Erik L.
July 19, 201213 yr I, for one, think there's a need for more regional aircraft. I like the big tubes, but shorter flights are my thing. I doubt however that PMDG will do one. I believe Robert R. said they lost money on the J41, a regional propliner. The demand apparently just isn't there among simmers, despite the the popularity of regional aircraft in the real world. On the aerosoft previews forum, the section dealing with the Digital Aviation CRJ project, which seems to be stalled at the moment, someone wrote: "I wonder if anyones seen this:http://awgsim.wordpr.../06/06/finally/, its a -200 project. no VC shots except for one render of a part of the central pedestal, but the exterior looks pretty good." And Mathijs Kok answered with this little tidbit: "We are talking with these developers about handing there product (not to replace the DA one of course)." Maybe there's a chance we'll see a quality CRJ yet. One can hope!
July 19, 201213 yr More real world news about airlines wanting less -200s :( http://www.flightglobal.com/news/articles/us-airways-prefers-smaller-50-seat-rj-fleet-374514/ LUIS LINARES Processor: Intel Core i9 6700K 9900K (5.0 GHz Turbo) Eight Core; CPU Cooling: NXXT Kraken X62 280mm CPU Liquid Cooler; System Memory: 64GB Corsair DDR4 SDRAM @ 3200 MHz, RGB; Graphics Processor: 11GB Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080 Ti, GDDR6, Primary Drive: 2TB Samsung 850 Pro Solid State Drive (SSD)
