Not only with that manual, but also with the control panel on Shift-3. If you hover your mouse cursor over the engine start text, it will show you a tooltip hint.

Hmmmm ... there's a manual? Is it a separate download, or part of the download package? And with tooltips turned on, hovering over any of the control-panel items failed to show any display tips. I managed to fly last night only because the engines were going all ready.

As far as the blacked out gauge faces go, are there additional downloads needed in addition the the mod pack 1 released in this thread? I installed according the the instructions packaged.

RM Killins

For the manuals, head to SimObjects\Airplanes\Basler_BT67\Documentation. There's an Appendix E: Starter Error Codes which lists the error messages you may receive.

If a start attempt fails, the tooltip of the starter switch (and starter field on the control panel) returns an error code giving a hint about what condition or setting is wrong:

Sorry, I don't know what could be the problem with the gauge faces. Can you post a screenshot? The gauge mod pack has a readme included. You mainly need to copy that cab file to the panel folder and edit your panel.cfg or use the included one.

Did the gauges work without the mod? If so, something on the steps to enable the gauge mod went wrong. I can only guess, hence the note to look at the readme again. :mellow:

If you've manually edited the panel.cfg, mind this step.

If you manually add these lines to your existing panel.cfg

make sure to change pixel_size=512,512 to pixel_size=1024,1024

Hi CoolP ... thanks for your continued support

The documentation thing ... I'll dig a litle deeper. SOmething as obvious as that, I don't know where my head was.

And I think, what I might do when I get home, is remove the Basler from FSX, and re-install it and check the panel gauges before the mod 1 to help diagnose the problem. I did add the new the mod before actually flying the Basler a first time, so who knows. I didn't do any manual editting of the panel.cfg file.

RM Killins

The pixel_size=512 will still render the gauges, just at a lower resolution. A black gauge means the panel.cfg was changed but FSX cannot find the gauge. Did you copy the HD cab file to the same location as the panel.cfg?

As far as the engines not starting: you have to push and hold the red starter button until the green light box next to the starter button goes out. If you just press but do not hold the engine will attempt to start but always fail. If all else fails shift-e will start them for you and show you the sequence necessary.

The new gauges look great!

I can't figure out how to enter a GPS waypoint as a Direct entry - is there some documentation on the RXP GPS that explains data entry - other than a flight plan?

I can get the GPS to show NRST and get it to cycle thru the Airport list but I can not get it to move to the other NRST lists such as NDB or VOR

Got it. Thanks, Cheese-Strike.

Pressing the red starter button with the middle (wheel) mouse button will hold it until you can bring the mixture up from the bottom. One at a time please.

Thanks for another great one, Cheese Strike!

Here is a smoke system entry for the BT-67 cfg file that will allow you to spray the Gulf of Mexico in N932H. Add it near the bottom of the BT-67 cfg file. There is a blank smokesystem entry there now that you have to overwrite-

[sMOKESYSTEM]

smoke.0=-31.01, -42.50, -2.31, fx_smoke_w

smoke.1=-31.01, -35.00, -2.31, fx_smoke_w

smoke.2=-31.01, -27.50, -2.91, fx_smoke_w

smoke.3=-31.01, -20.00, -2.91, fx_smoke_w

smoke.4=-31.01, -12.50, -3.51, fx_smoke_w

smoke.5=-31.01, -5.00, -3.51, fx_smoke_w

smoke.6=-33.01, 5.00, -3.51, fx_smoke_w

smoke.7=-33.01, 12.50, -3.51, fx_smoke_w

smoke.8=-33.01, 20.00, -2.91, fx_smoke_w

smoke.9=-33.01, 27.50, -2.91, fx_smoke_w

smoke.10=-33.01, 35.00, -2.31, fx_smoke_w

smoke.11=-33.01, 42.50, -2.31, fx_smoke_w

Once it's installed, the smoke should look like this-

BT-67smoke1.jpg

All that is missing is the spray bars that the real N932H had on her wings.

Awesome! Tried to create a custom smoke effect ... did not work out well, yet. Maybe there will be one in future.

We did not model those spray bars, but maybe we're going to do some additional models (e.g. spray bar, water bomber, research probes and last but not least the Spectrem BT-67). It's only a maybe! We don't know yet!

Glad to hear it. I just noticed an errror in my smoke system cfg. OOPs!

Here is the correct one-

[sMOKESYSTEM]

smoke.0=-31.01, -42.50, -2.31, fx_smoke_w

smoke.1=-31.01, -35.00, -2.31, fx_smoke_w

smoke.2=-31.01, -27.50, -2.91, fx_smoke_w

smoke.3=-31.01, -20.00, -2.91, fx_smoke_w

smoke.4=-31.01, -12.50, -3.51, fx_smoke_w

smoke.5=-31.01, -5.00, -3.51, fx_smoke_w

smoke.6=-31.01, 5.00, -3.51, fx_smoke_w

smoke.7=-31.01, 12.50, -3.51, fx_smoke_w

smoke.8=-31.01, 20.00, -2.91, fx_smoke_w

smoke.9=-31.01, 27.50, -2.91, fx_smoke_w

smoke.10=-31.01, 35.00, -2.31, fx_smoke_w

smoke.11=-31.01, 42.50, -2.31, fx_smoke_w

The original cfg I posted put the smoke on the right wing farther forward than the left wing. With the new cfg, the smoke will be even on both wings.

Hi folks. Thanks to all for your help with the gauges. I replaced the panel folder with the original panel folder from the version 2 release. The stock gauges worked. I then followed closely the readme included with the HD gauge package, extracting the CAB file to the panel folder of the Basler, and replacing the stock panel file with the HD panel.cfg file. Seems all is ok now.

I have been told numerous times about the tooltips, but I have no idea what demons possess this installation, but I can't get any tool tips by hovering or clicking the starter switches or the Control Panel. Whether or not it matters, I have display flying tips enabled in FSX realism settings. I must have missed that class, so if anyone wants to share their notes from class ... :-)

RM Killins

Here is phase 2 of the HD gauges. This replaces and updates all files from release 1.

-> Download the ZIP file here <-

Extract the CAB file to \SimObjects\Airplanes\Basler_BT67\panel or \Gauges if you want to use these gauges with other aircraft.

The included panel.cfg will install all of the new HD gauges. It will overwrite any changes you may have made to the panel.cfg file. It is the panel.cfg that shipped with verison 2.

If you want to add them by hand make sure to change pixel_size=512,512 to pixel_size=1024,1024 in both [Vcockpit01] and [Vcockpit02]. You must replace the existing gauge references.

Example: Replace gauge15=Cessna208B_Basler!prop_rpm, 265,288,67,67 with gauge15=BT67_HD!prop_rpm, 267,289,66,66

I have resize and moved them around a bit so be sure to replace the whole line.

I have included an optional annunciator panel that has no YD button. Just in case you are using a differant auto pilot that has one built in. The // comments out the flight director gauge all together.

I also changed the font and toned down the night time intensity of the release 1 gauges:

The new gauge set works very good. A perfect thing just got more perfect! Thanks for your efforts again. :smile:

Don't worry, the community will always help. On the problem with the tooltips not showing. We are looking for those messages.

And the setting in FSX is this one.

Be aware that some folks reported that FSX becomes unstable or something with the tooltips on. I never saw that happening here in all my years, but if you would receive an unstable sim after changing that setting, perhaps revert back.
