July 27, 201213 yr Airborne Support 'Clean Gulf Associates' Thanks Cheese Strike another outstanding paint scheme. Airborne Support does important work mitigating the oil spills in the Gulf of Mexico. Most appreciated. Mississippi Slim
July 27, 201213 yr Glad to hear it. I just noticed an errror in my smoke system cfg. OOPs! Here is the correct one- [sMOKESYSTEM] smoke.0=-31.01, -42.50, -2.31, fx_smoke_w smoke.1=-31.01, -35.00, -2.31, fx_smoke_w smoke.2=-31.01, -27.50, -2.91, fx_smoke_w smoke.3=-31.01, -20.00, -2.91, fx_smoke_w smoke.4=-31.01, -12.50, -3.51, fx_smoke_w smoke.5=-31.01, -5.00, -3.51, fx_smoke_w smoke.6=-31.01, 5.00, -3.51, fx_smoke_w smoke.7=-31.01, 12.50, -3.51, fx_smoke_w smoke.8=-31.01, 20.00, -2.91, fx_smoke_w smoke.9=-31.01, 27.50, -2.91, fx_smoke_w smoke.10=-31.01, 35.00, -2.31, fx_smoke_w smoke.11=-31.01, 42.50, -2.31, fx_smoke_w The original cfg I posted put the smoke on the right wing farther forward than the left wing. With the new cfg, the smoke will be even on both wings. Due to fps issues using the default smoke effect (less fps), I created two custom effects (left wing and right wing) Some height tweaking and it should be ready for download, need to fit it to the wing structure Greetings, Daniel Texture Artist and Scenery DeveloperCheesy Simulations
July 27, 201213 yr That looks better than the default smoke I used. It looks more like a chemical spray as it should. Nice work!
July 27, 201213 yr I'm done! BT-67 spray effect -> Download here <- Greetings, Daniel Texture Artist and Scenery DeveloperCheesy Simulations
July 27, 201213 yr I'm done! BT-67 spray effect -> Download here <- Got it. Thanks. When Pigs Fly . Ray Marshall .
July 27, 201213 yr What is it you guys are spraying there? Love? Sorry, me is a romantic flyer. I am uncertain of what the exact chemical being sprayed was, but the Basler was used to spray chemicals on the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico to help the oil spill to break up. The Basler would fly very low as if it were "cropdusting" the Gulf.
July 28, 201213 yr That looks awesome, nice work and thank you! Happy Flying, Clem Wu Beta Tester for OZx, Iris Simulations and Shade.
July 28, 201213 yr Has anybody tried the TSS sound pack for the Basler using the engines from the super king air? Only $13.. http://www.flightsimstore.com/product_info.php?products_id=1837 Would these engines be "close enough" they appear to be similar just a different variant. Basler BT-67: Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6A-67R Super King Air: Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6A-42 Both these engines should sound similar I would think. Although 4 blade props on the King Air, and 5 on the Basler but that shouldn't make much difference. Either way it has to be better than default MS FSX yeah?
July 28, 201213 yr Has anybody tried the TSS sound pack for the Basler using the engines from the super king air? Only $13.. Yes. it's fantastic sound. Gnarly :)
July 28, 201213 yr Yes. it's fantastic sound. Gnarly :) Thanks, I'm getting it :) This plane is really growing on me, every time I like it more and more. It's going to get alot of use in Antarctica. Here's a screenshot from today's flight:
July 28, 201213 yr I can't help it, you guys have created a beautiful aircraft. I have to thank you again for all your efforts. Could I ask one more question? I have searched over and over and cannot for the life of me find the sound .cfg file that controls the volume of the fuel pumps. I would like to crank it down just a little - or should I just leave it as is? I have found different sounds for the engines and have adjusted everything to my liking - except those fuel pumps. Thanks ahead of time, because I know you guys are very attentive and helpful. John John Wingold
July 29, 201213 yr On the sounds, it depends on what you are currently using, John. The default Basler installation aliases to FSX' King Air, so it's the stuff at SimObjects\Airplanes\Beech_King_Air_350\sound which defines everything for you. When running another sound set, there should be a sound.cfg at SimObjects\Airplanes\Basler_BT67\sound which you can open with a text editor and look for an entry like this. [FUEL_PUMP]filename=fuel_pump flags=0 viewpoint=1 minimum_volume=8000 maximum_volume=8000 If it isn't there, it hasn't be defined yet, so you could add it (plus a sound file of your choice). The syntax is the filename without the wav extension and some volume level going up to 10000. The rest isn't of much concern. So you could grab some fuel pump sound from another plane and define it like that. If you call it fuel_pump.wav and copy it to the sound folder of the Basler or the general sound folder of FSX (which is at the FSX folder\sound), you will receive a sound.
July 29, 201213 yr Thanks CoolP, I think it just hasn't been defined. The sound is there and the other terminology, but no volume control. Thanks for all you do. John John Wingold
