July 19, 201213 yr Nice bridge upgrade. Too bad the locals had to tear all those buildings down to get the materials to build it.
July 19, 201213 yr Hmmmm, so now they're trying Austin's bridge techniques...... You should look at how Lisbon's Tagus river bay is depicted in xplane9 and 10 :-) Flying gliders since 1980 Flightsimming since 1992 AMD Ryzen 5600x, 32GB RAM, GPU Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti 8 GB, 1 TB and 500 GB nvme2 SSD drives, HP 27" 60Hz LED monitor @ 1920x1080, T16000, Hotas from old X52 Pro, Saitek Combat Rudder Pro (2010 model)
July 19, 201213 yr I bet it was just easier to model it that way (and more FPS friendly, perhaps?) And you couldn't fly under the real one, Unless you were a bit mental. And had a very small plane http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mv0BGTqjMdc JAKE EYREIt's a small step from the sublime to the ridiculous...Napoleon Bonaparte
July 19, 201213 yr LOL - looks like the locals really did trash the place and built a big one..is that a logging plant or something? Probably needed to get more trucks in and out..money talks, little picturesque bridges get trashed JAKE EYREIt's a small step from the sublime to the ridiculous...Napoleon Bonaparte
July 19, 201213 yr Also, ther seaplane base keeps moving around. Had to follow it with MSF map to get credit for landing.
July 19, 201213 yr I guess they wanted to improve reality? There's no place like this place, so this must be the place.
July 19, 201213 yr The thing is it looks a lot alike from overhead. Best regards. Luis Hot, humid Caribbean paradise!
July 20, 201213 yr The trees really do look more dense in real Life I wouldn't care about the density if they'd at least get the COLOR right. Oh look, they're *green*!! I've been complaining about that since beta. Hook Larry Hookins Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of EarthAnd danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;
July 20, 201213 yr So, no problem, it's a bridge as far as I'm concerned. Since I shall never go to Alaska in this life, it does not matter in the least to me if it doesn't look just like the real one. Started the Hunt from Juneau and decided to fly over to Hoonah. As usual, the reflections on the water look wonderful. The bridge is in sight! And thankfully, it's not a reproduction of the real thing or... I couldn't fly under it! :P Which of course is what I did. Success! But, I did not get the Aerocache. So, I went around and flew under the bridge and the Aerocache from the other side. Got my measly 2000 XP for bridge flying. And headed for a landing at Hoonah Airport. Good flight, good Aerocache, glad we have them again. Best regards. Luis Hot, humid Caribbean paradise!
July 20, 201213 yr OT But men, I really can't understand how you can stand flying with that fake VC...! It looks awful!
July 20, 201213 yr Very rough color correction on the Flight screenshot, just to see how it compares to the photo. It ended up a bit cartoonish with similar values.
