BlackBox Simulation Airbus X'treme Prologue

remember airbus are not to out their kind of people to release their simulation system, how they work an so on

There is plenty of information out there - it just takes a little more time and effort to acquire. I wouldn't say this was the one reason a high fidelity Airbus is missing from FSX.

Blackbox are an incarnation of PSS. No thanks..

Agree with other posters here.. we cannot expect every developer to be at the level PMDG set (nice though that may be, product and service wise), but I do not understand this whole paying for a beta. Dev: get people on board to test your code and feedback what's good and what's not. Close it to select people, make them accept NDA's - as a developer you have that right.

I think it sets an unreasonable expectation about what you the consumer expects, and what the developer needs to deliver. MS have demonstrated they are perfectly capable of delivering free consumer previews of their software.

Would you be happy for your bank to ask you to pay for the privilege of testing their beta version of the new shiny internet banking site ; with all the bugs that inevitably happen in immature code?

A lot of us slammed Captain Sim over their "block releases" which were to all intents and purposes beta releases - and paying for that privilege gave no guarantees of a final product as inferred.

PSS did have a good reputation for a long time, I loved their Airbus (I still remember the lovely printed manual that came with the CD, much easier than the pdfs now) but a lot of us got soured in the final days; undelivered customer expectations caused by Inexplicable outages of the internet in Malta. I shan't comment on other parties files rumoured to have been accidentally copied and distributed into the final product whilst PSS pertained to the rampant unlawful copying of their product.

Caveat emptor, as always.

Personally, I have no issue with the beta release strategy. Most products (including the NGX) are released with bugs and it usually takes some time to for people to report the bugs and the developer to get them out, so the cycle is going to happen one way or another. Captain Sim is doing this type of thing as well, and if it leads to a better end, then great because they have issues with a lot of their past models. The more testers the better. If you don't want to participate, that’s your choice and I tip my hat to those who would take the time to help because we all benefit from it. And from what I have heard, the BBS Airbus is already better than your existing options for a payware Airbus and its only half way there.

No doubt its due to the long time it takes to develop a complete Aircraft addon product for FSX.

And during that period the developer derives no income from the product, makes it even that much harder to deliver a complete product considering the relatively small returns from a small addon market.

Its also pretty clear several customers don't like waiting the entire development period for a product release and are willing to pay for early releases..

As long as these factors remain true, this method of addon delivery is likely here to stay for some products.

Its not for me from either the developer or the customer standpoint.

But i think as long as the developer is up front about it, and the customer knows what they are getting, I have no real problem with it.

Regards.

Ernie.

I don't think some people should be too quick to dismiss the Aerosoft Airbus update/upgrade/patch/new model/? which will be with us before too long, I hope.

I have no problem with payware beta's so long as it is clearly stated before time of purchase. 99% I won't bother with them but I did it with the CS B732 and found it to be a good experience. They were actively engaging us for ideas and bugs and responding quickly with updates. Some simmers like to get "into the game" during development and see their ideas implemented.

I also did get last night the new Experience X night light add-on. Though reading the threads of several issues/requests, it still works - no crashes or BSODs and I see the developer is actively working on requests and updates.

On the other hand I decided not to do the with the CS B777 as I was not as confident with the update activity there after I purchased it a ways back. And I would touch that new ATC program (can think of the name) where one could not even complete a flight with crashes... now that was released as a finished product too... no thanks!

Full array of Bravo, Saitek and GoFlight hardware for the cockpit. Varjo and HP VR headsets for mixed reality.

ell my friend,it´s a complete unfinished product,it´s unbelievable nowadays how some people release unfinished product and let US PAY for Alpha or Beta stuff. ie.Airsimmer,CaptainSim 777 and this BlackBox Airbus X'treme Prologue.

This thing about some people releasing unfinished stuff is annoying.But.I find that the The bbs airbus does what it says on the tin ( I have it). If you bought the CS777 you knew it was beta.I'm ok with the release of beta products as long as the vendor is upfront about it. Maybe you thought of the maker of proatcx who is actually having his customers alpha/beta test his product for fat $64 passing it for finished software. If the customers complain he goes out of his way to have people believe their system/addons are at fault. And it gets even better. He has the very same 2 people posting on he forums about the good experiences they have with the software.

You know they fool some of us weenies with their unfinished products but they do not fool the market. The market will react and ignore the scumbags. You can usually tell when this happens because the thread gets ignored and disappears into oblivion.

What goes around comes around.

Well,well,well...

I've bought it mainly because of regular updates promised. And I haven't seen such updates since June and THEY PROMISED !

Read their website:

PURCHASE PRICE INCLUDES REGULAR BI-WEEKLY SERVICE UPDATES AS WE INCREASE FUNCTIONALITY TOWARDS THE X'TREME

So,as I said before,I'm a stupid to put my money in another lie...

hi guys,

Getting that topic back on.... Guess what ? Since Sep 21 and the release of v0.54, there has been not a single update... When the product was put on the shelves back in May, December was supposed to be the month of the final Extreme version.... Once again these former PSS guys are showing their real face to the community... As far as I am concerned, I lost money with their unfinished A340 series a long time ago and in no way i will lose 55$ again to buy this crap..... in Fslabs we trust :-)

too much, too soon....

Wow...that long? By doing this they have shown their willingness to go pooping on the collective community. Maybe they are having the same technical struggles that Aerosoft are having with the Airbus X Extended.

well it's actually not a question of "long or not" but a question of keeping your promises... when you sell a product promising bi-weekly updates and when you stay 2 months without anything something is wrong... on top of that the pictures from existing release speak for themselves... Abacus is back..... anyway your response sounds like the one from a BBS staff lol !!!

too much, too soon....
