The installer has now been updated to include a couple of fixes, an updated manual and Prepar3D compatibility. You just need to download the latest installer from your account and then reinstall the product. Instructions here: http://www.justflight.com/supportfaq/downloads-purchased-after-the-21st-december-2009#FAQ2

Martin,

Clicking on any of the black "boxes" (see arrows) will get you an artifact( see picture please).I'm including a mediafire link to the pict so you can see what I mean.

Clicking on the annunicator lights on the overhead panel will bring up a 2D pop-up showing all of the overhead annunicator lights, as shown in your image.

I won't be back in the office until 9am on Monday, so I'll be back then to any more questions.

The fact that they are offering a refund policy makes this a no brainer for me. It looks very good visually from the pics and video I saw. As far as people griping about the FMC, as I understand it the actual plane does not come with an FMC so that doesn't seem like a big problem. Does the QW version have a (full model) FMC? If not thats just icing on the cake.

As far as the battery being off, I don't see why that would prevent a plane from flying. First of all, the engines themselves generate power - the battery is just a backup. Second, the engine system is separate from the electrical system, which is also separate from the hydraulic and static systems, so in no way would a battery that is turned off prevent the plane from flying or operating the hydraulic systems. The electrical instruments (and flaps if they are electrically versus hydraulically operated) won't work if there is no other source of power such as from the APU or generators, but that's about it.

Also, just checking the JF FAQ, it seems like a fair amount of systems, including the hydraulics, are modeled.

According to JustFlight, the BAe 146 modeled did not come with an FMC, so they did not put one in. Because they new some people would want one, they included it in their livery expansion pack (very inexpensive).

Considering that this aircraft did not come from the factory with an FMC, it really is not a lite version.

The FMC that is included is mainly to manage doors, GPU, monitor flight, and have an interactive Checklist, which is really very handy and well worth the few bucks that they charge for the expansion pack.

According to QualitySim, their BAe 146, which, unlike this one, is a glass cockpit, is also a lighter version. I look forward to also having QW's version for FSX also.

It seems to me that there are plenty of systems working in this aircraft and setting up the aircraft takes a little time.

The virtual cockpit and exterior model look great and I purchased Turbine Sound Studio's engine sounds (which is usually what I do for any aircraft sim), so the engines sound great.

I'm very pleased with my purchase and I'm having a lot of fun with it.

If the QualitySim 146 for FS9 is anything to go by, I would wait for that to appear for FSX, which according to their website should be in August. Their FS9 version, which has just had an update, is excellent.

I'd like to know how the flight model for this one is, especially when hand flying it. The lack of FMC does not bother me at all, especially if the plane doesn't have one in the real world. I assume it does have some sort of navigation system besides just VOR radios, no? Like an IRU/INS, or something lik that so that you can fly RNAV routes.

I currently use the freeware Jon Murchison model with Matthias' excellent freeware panel. But I have been waiting for a payware version with a good flight model for some time.

this plane is clearly very good. The flight model is stable, with a bit of trim the plane can be flown by hand, and the autopilot works very well.

It's definitely a great plane in this category of jets, especially if you want to fly regional.

I don't regret the purchase, and will probable purchase QW when it comes out as well...

Well, I have purchased the aircraft, after reading this thread again and again. Years ago, I bought a book titled Bae 146 in Europe, from the flight deck, by Leo Maririott. This great description of a day in the life of a Dan-Air 146-200 was the start of my love for this great aircraft.

I have to say that my default plane is the PMDG 737ngx, so a comparision with a so called lite product seems hard.

After a first test, I like this just flight edition. Not so lite at all to me. Nice hand flyer, great analog panel, as the plane described in the Leo Marriott book. Functional vc, no need to fall back on the 2D cockpit.

My only wishes so far are 1) the speed booklets, needed for calculating fuel and take off / landing settings and 2) a shortcut key for opening the doors panel. I don't like having to switch back to the 2D panel, just to open this panel.

So can anyone tell us what navigation systems are available on this plane? Is it just VOR and ADF?

David Norman Paul

It comes with traditional nav and adf radios. FMC is extra. Works well with native gps created flight plans.

So you can couple the GPS to the autopilot and fly RNAV routes and procedures that you have set up in the GPS?

Yes. You can and it's very reliable. I've flown a number of flights with native gps flight plans, including STAR procedures, successfully. tc
