December 10, 201213 yr Author FINALLY got this techno sled pushed back and all engines running. Phhhhheww...I need a beer.
December 10, 201213 yr Thumbs up for the MCE featured Concorde X. That's from a fan though. Good catch, VeryBumpy. I always operate them via the FE's subpanel. All MSUs in one place. Do you know the INS system from some other planes by any chance? +1 here, after seeing the difference MCE voice first officer and flight engineer did on the Simcheck A300, if they were to support the Concorde, I would just have to buy the sleek bird and have a go! It sounds, to Flight Simulation, the exact complex equivalent it was to real aviation, therefore I would need all the help I could get! Will Reynolds Flight Sim Addict
December 10, 201213 yr If that’s OK, as soon as we’re done with the Coolsky DC-9 and MD80, will be buying a copy (wouldn’t mind a review copy ) and see if it’s doable. Which MD-80 are/will you (be) doing? Leonardo's, or some other one? Leonardo's would interest me (as would Concorde-X).

January 17, 201313 yr Author I'm kinda shocked how long it takes to get from Mach.7 to Mach2.0, seems like forever. Besides advancing time, any trick or 'cheat' to get this over-buttoned fuel cocktail up to speed faster?
January 17, 201313 yr How long are we talking about here? Christopher Low AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D CPU / 64GB DDR5-6000 RAM / 12GB Nvidia RTX 4070 Super GPU / Gigabyte X870E Aorus Elite Wifi 7 / 1+2TB Samsung Evo Plus M2 Nvme UK2000 Beta Tester
January 17, 201313 yr Author Well I took a shower, went to let the dogs out/in and got a banana bread snack downstairs while it was is in climb to max cruise mode, and still wasn't quite there, so a good 30 min for sure, maybe 40min max.
January 17, 201313 yr I'd buy the Concorde as well if it was multi crewed by FS++ They'd be crazy to disallow it, as they'd be losing customers.
January 17, 201313 yr Commercial Member Yeah Multi Crew for Concorde would be totally awesome, somebody to do some of the procedures for me... Probably I will try to learn fly FSLabs Concorde during summer when I finally have a lot of freetime.
January 17, 201313 yr I'm kinda shocked how long it takes to get from Mach.7 to Mach2.0, seems like forever. Besides advancing time, any trick or 'cheat' to get this over-buttoned fuel cocktail up to speed faster? Concorde crews would set a timer when the reheats were engaged at around 0.95 Mach. After 15 minutes they were required to turn them off. Based on weather, ISA, etc. the time from 0.95 to 1,7 is between 8 and 12 minutes in my experience. After 1.7, about another 10 to 15 to get to M2.0. I have not actually timed it so not 100% sure. There is one important glitch in Concorde X (which is really an FSX issue) where somehow the nose goes up and locked but it is not really up and locked. After moving the handle up at 170 knots (otherwise alarm will sound), you should hit F5 to make sure it is up properly. This will ensure you will actually get to M2.0 in the first place and will certainly reduce the time. The only other thing to make sure of is that you have A/T off, Max Climb engaged and throttles full forward (N1=105), so a few taps of F4 will help. Mark CYYZ
January 17, 201313 yr Well I took a shower, went to let the dogs out/in and got a banana bread snack downstairs while it was is in climb to max cruise mode, and still wasn't quite there I like that sort of measurement. ^_^ A friend of mine measures in beer-length. Two beers, that's short. Does anyone else use that index? Must be international. More seriously, good tips from Mark there. Also make sure that the sim weather doesn't spoil the lady. As we know, some data or even the injection itself may interrupt the sensible addons. For instance, high OAT values severely influence the cimb times. One could say that this is just like on the real thing, but the sim weather may present higher offsets or just wonky changes. I don't know how well the data is depicted above FL500 for example. And that's the regime you are in for hours and also on the long-ish way up from M1.7 to 2.0.
January 29, 201313 yr Author Just found a web site that is very informative with lots of real nice pictures. Great for learning many things of the Concorde. http://www.concordesst.com/cockpitsys.html
