August 23, 201213 yr I have Aerosofts Manhattan scenery and Drzewiecki Design's Miami City scenery and I was wondering if there is other high quality city scenery for FS9? When the city is close to the airport and high quality scenery of the city is installed it will make a big difference when flying to amd from that airport.

When the city is close to the airport and high quality scenery of the city is installed it will make a big difference when flying to amd from that airport. There are not many very high quality city sceneries available for FS9, but IMO one of the best is the France VFR Paris scenery which coupled with the very high quality airports and airfields available for the Paris area, makes this an amazing city to visit and fly over in FS9. Another superb one is the Fly Tampa Hong Kong scenery. Bill
August 23, 201213 yr Bill - do you use the VFR France - Paris scenery with Aerosoft's Megascenery LFPG DeGaulle? How do frame rates work out when you have a dense city scenery along with a dense airport scenery and tons and tons of AI flying into multiple airports all within the same scenery area? Just curious.... It sounds like the perfect combination to have a realistic city environment and a top notch airport scenery - one of the reasons I love the FZ Portland scenery so much. But with a huge metropolis like Paris, I wondered how FPS would fare.... Cheers Ian
August 23, 201213 yr Vancouver+ married with J Gabbert's CYVR makes for a good combo. Don't blame for my name, my parents were hippies and met in Woodstock

But with a huge metropolis like Paris, I wondered how FPS would fare.... Cheers Ian I have that combination together with all of the other really excellent addon payware scenery for the Paris area, most of it from France VFR. Although I haven't flown there for quite a few months now, I haven't noticed any major problems in terms of smoothness although there is definitely a frame rate hit particularly when using non-default aircraft. Generally France VFR scenery does very well in terms of FPS with the exception of their latest release, which, although awesome and IMO incomparable, does cause my rig to struggle particularly in the vicinity of Rouen with all the sliders maxed out! August 24, 201213 yr Author NL2000. You get all the cities, all the airports... and everything in-between! NL2000 is for FS9? I thought those sceneries were for FSX.
August 24, 201213 yr I am also a city scenery lover myself. Departing and approaching an airport with the city in view creates another level of realism and ambience for me. Freeware (most found in the Avsim and Flightsim libraries): - Shanghai - Kuala Lumpur - Singapore Central Business District - Chiang Mai - Japanese cities (e.g. Tokyo and Osaka) by http://fsx.o.oo7.jp/ - Gdansk (a nice addition to DD PAv1) - Spain VFR / Real Spain (a lot of spain with not only buildings but also photoreal ground and custom autogen) - main cities covered: Madrid, Barcelona, Malaga, Bilbao - Frankfurt City (unless you have Aerosoft Frankfurt which adds a similar number of city buildings or Scenery Germany 4 which adds more) - Istanbul - Cairo - Dubai city (enhancement of FlyTampa) plus DSDG Burj Dubai - Moscow (you can find it at avsim.su) - St Petersburg (search for Project ULLI and its links) - Prague by vfr-Praha - Helsinki (and a few more Finnish cities) at fsnordic - Copenhagen (may be mixed with Dannish VFR scenery packs by Renoholm) - Tel Aviv VFR and the city on a photoreal ground - Rio de Janeiro by Terra Brasilis - Wellington, New Zealand (used to be payware) - VOZ Vista Australis (a nice Sydney enhancement apart from the whole country custom ground textures and more) Payware: - Scenery Germany in four parts covers a lot of Germany adding many objects, IMHO best seen in Hamburg, but also in Frankfurt am Main and Cologne - Aerosoft Berlin VFR 2006 - Aerosoft Bremen - Aerosoft Luxembourg Airports adds a lot of VFR objects and bulding around Luxembourg apart from the ELLX airport - Aerosoft Gibraltar X adds a lot of objects, ships and great animations around the airport - Cloud9 Amsterdam ands the whole city of Amsterdam (theoretically can be separated from the airport and used with Aerosofts MA Amsterdam) - LAGO Rome - LAGO Venice - LAGO Florence - Napulevola adds not only the airport but also the city of Naples, the Vesuvius volcano and a lot of surroundings - Austria Professional 2004 adds custom ground texture, over 100 objects and a great rendition of the Vienna city - Approaching Innsbruck will give you a great scenery of the Innsbryck city, even with animated trains! - Aerosoft Budapest by Andras Kozma adds the whole city of Budapest apart from a great airport rendition - Aerosoft Vilnius X adds a good part of the city in addition to the airport - Drzewiecki Design: you can see a lot of city buildings with Cracow (EPKK), Rzeszow (EPRZ) and Lodz (EPLL) - BlueSkyScenery downtown Los Angeles (the higest resolution ground textures you can see for FS9!) - Chicago city in South Wacker Drive
August 24, 201213 yr Wow, I was about to say that... FS2020 Alienware Aurora R11 10th Gen Intel Core i7 10700F - Windows 11 Home 32GB Ram NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Super OC 16GB - Pimax Crystal Light VR
August 24, 201213 yr Rafal that is an excellent list, and worth pursuing at leisure! Budapest really stands out for me in terms of coverage... Adding a couple of freewares: Robin Corn's Auckland photoreal (strangely includes the greater city area but not the airport!) Mauritius, not strictly city but the airport and environs are just beautifully done. Question: What sceneries are best for use around Moscow?
August 24, 201213 yr Author Rafal that is a good list. I have some of those add ons already and some I did not know about. PS: that link for the Japan sceneries also has Las Vegas (the strip) and Honolulu.
August 25, 201213 yr Rafal that is a good list. I have some of those add ons already and some I did not know about. PS: that link for the Japan sceneries also has Las Vegas (the strip) and Honolulu. Thanks for the Las Vegas and Honolulu tip - just downloaded them. The perfect complement to two outstanding airports and area photoscenery
August 25, 201213 yr What sceneries are best for use around Moscow? There are a few packs to build it. They are all available at avsim.su. I have just tried to paste the links for you here. Unfortunately I am getting a message that the AVSIM administrator does not allow linking to that website. So all I can say is go to avsim.su and search for 'Moscow' in the file library. There are 6 files you need (you will get it from the description, you can always use Google Translate). You should use the search engine more or less like this: And here is the city:
