September 17, 201213 yr Here's a clever tongue in cheek spoof done by the Beeb. Super VC10 into LOWI with PF3 at a cinema near you https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=298UDyNmgUA
September 17, 201213 yr That was hilarious (all 3 parts). Thanks for posting. I love how at 8:50 secs the printout says Microsoft Flight Simulator 2000 . ~ Martin Smith
September 17, 201213 yr Saw this movie awhile ago and it's absolutely brilliant. They also managed to get most things more accurate than most 'serious' movies too. IIRC the EICAS and the throttle quadrant didn't quite agree on the number of engines though. John-Alan Pascoe
September 17, 201213 yr I played this movie a few years ago in the flight school. I love the dry British humor! The "why a plane flies" theory is so accurately depicted (as far as that's how it looks to students) it's funny. Even in sarcasm, that's how so many instructors teach it that bit still cracks me up. ___________________________________________________________________________________ Zachary Waddell -- Caravan Driver -- Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/zwaddell Avsim ToS Avsim Screenshot Rules
September 17, 201213 yr Author The "annonymous" airline can clearly be identified as BA. The give away scene is the one in which two passengers ask for coffee, then tea and are both served from the same pot! September 17, 201213 yr That was hilarious! Haha, I too loved the coffee and tea choice but also the takeoff, which came in very calm. Those are wise pilots as they decide, in part3, that their faces should be pixelized. 'Is the engine ok?' 'Well, we find out when we start it.' 'I wouldn't mind if you have good look at my harness too.' 'climbing at an R-A-T-E of 1.53 vertical seconds per foot of thrust.' Salute the Captain!
September 17, 201213 yr Hehe, very good, so subtle it took me a few seconds before I realised it wasn't serious! That actress was brilliant. Simmo W, Melbourne, Ozhttp://www.youtube.com/user/id5556
September 19, 201213 yr I always love watching that every couple of months... "A scaled up, slowed down, and much more flammable version of rush hour on a busy highway" - Seems about right "You don't actually have to solute. Don't listen the them, you carry on" - Haha!! The funny part is that for the most part, a lot of it is accurate, only when the commentator actually points out the truth it seams rather silly... "As before every flight, pilot and co-pilot work their way formally but routinely through a range of possiblities other than the aircraft safely taking off and flying..." or "Before every single flight either the Captain or First Officer carries out an analysis of the aircraft's technical condition... by walking round and looking at it..." - Hahaha Regards, Ró Regards, Ró. Rónán O Cadhain.
September 21, 201213 yr by walking round and looking at it... Oh man, that is so freaking funny.. only because that is EXACTLY what happens.
September 21, 201213 yr Could have done without the "Negro Spiritual" comment, but it was actually pretty good for all that... "I am the Master of the Fist!" -Akuma
