September 21, 201213 yr Did you run markerrunways? Twice to be sure. I just need to double click it in the FSX folder yeah? I pops up and progresses through them all and completes
September 21, 201213 yr can you tell me from what runways you tried to depart (for every airport you tried where it made this callout) ? i have a clue about what could cause the problem but i am not sure Tebin Ulrich
September 21, 201213 yr One thing with the runways though, it incorrectly calls "On Taxiway" during takeoff at some addon airports. Yep it happened here at EDDF aerosoft. RAAS did not identify rwy 18 and when I took off it called on taxiway on taxiway and then it went dead.
September 21, 201213 yr Author Commercial Member You guys are all sure you're running "Making Runways" and following the instructions in it? 'Make Runways', which is Pete Dowson's famous tool, literally reads the scenery right out of Flight Sim. So unless Aerosoft did something really funky with their EDDF scenery, it should work. Cheers, Have purchased thanks for a great addon. So its essential we have to run the makerunway every time or just onece after the installation? Yes, you should run it at least once so RAAS can read your scenery. Remember that everyone has different scenery so every will need to run it. Also, anytime you update your scenery, you should run Make Runways again so your database is current. Cheers, B. York FS2Crew Web Site / FS2Crew Facebook Page / FS2Crew Discord
September 21, 201213 yr Great!! I just bought me a "Back Seat Driver" Thank you Bryan. I've been looking forward to your completing RAAS. Congratulations! I know it will be a big hit, especially since it works for all of the major flight sim formates. Now you have to see if you can make it work for X-Plane 10. I believe it is gaining a lot of momentum with JRollin's CJ 200, the recent release of the Boeing 777 Professional and the new 727 that will be released pretty soon. Robert Yunque
September 21, 201213 yr can you tell me from what runways you tried to depart (for every airport you tried where it made this callout) ? i have a clue about what could cause the problem but i am not sure Hi Tebin, Yes it was all runways at YWOL (there are only two i.e. four directions). At YWOL the runways cross at the centre, so maybe that helps. I wonder if it detects the crossing runway and thinks it's going past a taxiway. Bryan - yes definitely makerunways, I've used radar contact for ages and it wouldn't work without makerunways too. Also other airports work, it's just some that don't. MindYerBeak - I tried runway 07/25 at EDDF with default scenery + AFCAD and it works ok. So I think the issue is to do with payware sceneries.
September 21, 201213 yr As i dont have the orbx scenery, i have to try it with the default tomorrow morning. will report here once i have something Tebin Ulrich
September 22, 201213 yr - I would have loved to purchase this , but its a steep price for a utility add on. Peter Osborn
September 22, 201213 yr Author Commercial Member Hi, There's a 5 Euro discount for pre-existing FS2Crew owners, which is basically everyone. Coupon code: RAAS Pricey is relative, of course, but this is a very, very complex addon (internally, codewise) that works with all aircraft in FS9, FSX and P3D. It's not a simple utility. Cheers, B. York FS2Crew Web Site / FS2Crew Facebook Page / FS2Crew Discord
September 22, 201213 yr Utilities are the best addons, as they can be used in all aircraft usually i.e. every single session. Aircraft addons though, not so much. If I own 10 planes, then it's only 10% of the time I'll use one. Just a perspective...
September 22, 201213 yr I'm in!!! Now my FSX is on par with the RL Emirates jets... Yey!!!! Regards, Martin Martinov / VATSIM 1207931

September 24, 201213 yr Wow this is a must buy! Excellent! ....just one question: can I turn the RAAS off, for airplanes I don't want it to be in, like warbirds & old propps? Kind regardsR.G
September 24, 201213 yr Wow this is a must buy! Excellent!....just one question: can I turn the RAAS off, for airplanes I don't want it to be in, like warbirds & old propps? Yes, in the next patch they will make it so if the plane isn't associated with a profile RAAS will be off. In the initial version I just associated my GA planes with an "off" profile.
