Server problems ?

Featured Replies

There are more important networks on the web that play critical roles in our lives every day. Like Banks, Corporate Data Centers, Internet Servers etc. Any of these companies would love to have the ratio that Activesky does. Think about how many years ago Activesky came out and then try to remember the amount of time the Servers were down. If you do the math I think the ratio is gonna be like %99.5 uptime and %.05 or less downtime. Ask any Network Administrator and they will tell you they would kill for that ratio. Just a little something to think about.

For those of us who updated from AS 6.5 to ASE it is possible to still use the older weather engine situated in the Active Sky folder in the Gauges folder. Just needs relearning the procedure.

Currently flying EGNT-EGLL with full online weather and perfect rendition of the awful conitions in the north of the UK

I am sure the ASE servers will be back in good time and I am not too worried having only experience one glitch in the last year or so

It's not just about uptime/downtime ratio, but also about maximum downtime lengths. It'd prefer a 95% uptime with 2-hour maximum downtime to a 99,5% uptime with a 12-hour maximum downtime.

We should judge not only the capacity to maintain servers stable, but also the ability to quickly fix unpredictable issues.

Well I just want to say "Thank Goodness" the server is back up. Well here near KTUL anyway. What a day, but better now. -Cheers

Great to hear the servers are back again and would be interesting to hear what caused the problems, hope HiFi will share some info with us.

If not using the Vatsim option what source feeds AS2012 wx, NOAA?

ASE servers are still down? Anyone have this problem?

Good to know everything is back up, happy flying. See you around EGTT if you are on IVAO.

Hello guys,

Sorry that the servers went down. I know it is frustrating and I also use AS2012 and was affected the same as you. Thanks for your patience and understanding. Damian has been working hard and it should be resolved now. If you find that you are having additional issues with it or see it is down the fastest was to let us know is via our support system. I had numerous tickets reporting the problem and I want to thank each of you for sending in your reports. As advance as technology is these things do happen.

Regards,

Joshua

Thanks for letting us know Josh

And remember folks, It's not always HiFi that is down. There are things out here called routing issues also. :-)

So let's just tuck this one in and say goodnight.
