September 29, 201213 yr I have a feeling that the MilViz King Air will be THE King Air... with the correct Collins 21 no less.
September 29, 201213 yr Author Once my dream computer is ordered, I will probably get the 337, the T182, the 208 and the C90 or B200 or SR22. Obviously, the last slot is between the last three. ORBX- the way to go Sincerely, John McGee
September 29, 201213 yr I prefer the P46 Malibu I could fly this in real life right now (I had a PPL and block endorsement for high VFR), but I can not afford it. (or any real plane for that matter) So it is realistic for me.
September 30, 201213 yr but I can not afford it. Yea, very true.... You can't even get close to RW flying cost... no matter what you "add-on" to the cost of simming.
September 30, 201213 yr Yea, very true.... You can't even get close to RW flying cost... no matter what you "add-on" to the cost of simming. back in 1972, I would spend in one year, renting real planes, NEW, the same as I spend in one year now with addons. Rentals went from 17 an hour to 35 for a new Arrow, then I had to quit in 1878... i mean 1978... when it went to 54 per hour/ now there is the added burden of insurance...no passengers allowed in the twin without your own for some fangled maneymaking scheme. It would be moral if they made a lot of money helping us but they do it by succin us dry
October 1, 201213 yr Peppy, my family all but stopped flying in 1983, when rentals got to 45 an hour. My older brother is the only one still current, doing about 100 hours a year. Funny to think we almost bought a plane... a NEW one. Back then, new ones were about 3 times salary.... now.. forget it.
October 1, 201213 yr V-tailed Bonanza, just because it looks cool. I prefer the cockpit to the A36 one. Mike Mike Dryden
October 2, 201213 yr My favs right now is the c182t & the jetstream 31/41...now thats an a/c! I was a controller for 30 yrs and saw a lot of the 31...it is a great performer...it looks fast ,sounds fast and is fast. We had to be careful not to launch one up the butt of even some of the slower biz jets.
October 2, 201213 yr Author Thanks for all the input guys! Good thing Christmas is coming, more Carenado aircraft go to my list by the day. I think Orbx Pnw and the 185 will be a lot of fun! :yahoo: :yahoo: ORBX- the way to go Sincerely, John McGee
October 2, 201213 yr Mini Mitty Moe any Carendo aircraft will do. All good the ashtrays are usable almost. V tail dont have to fly just looking at it gives me pleasure.
October 2, 201213 yr It is a toss up for me between the Skymaster 337H with the Turbo mod and the Beech Baron 58. Fortunately, I have both and only have to choose which one I would like to fly. I think the Cessna 185 may be the best bush plane that Carenado has produced and the Bonanza (F33) is also very nice as a personal cross country plane. Jumping ship for a minute. Make sure you look at the Realair Lancair Legacy for realism and just plain fun to fly. Last but not least, also look at the BayTower VANS RV-7. My only reservation on this last one is it is taking way too long to come up with a pilot to replace the cheerleader, the plane itself is terrific. Ray When Pigs Fly . Ray Marshall .
October 2, 201213 yr Author With regards to the 208 and T182, how are they fps wise. I only care so much because I like detailed scenery for accurate VFR, as I will soon start training for my PPL. :yahoo: I'd like to be familiar with the area, which default scenery doesn't let me do. ORBX- the way to go Sincerely, John McGee
October 2, 201213 yr +1 what Ray said about the Legacy and RV, tho I don't mind the lady pilot really...somthing different to look at lol. I would also add the CH BF-108 to that list too. As far as Carenado birds, the 185(with Bernt's FDE) and Skymaster are probably my favorites. I do still enjoy the old Archer for IFR hand flying practice, hopefully Bernt can get around to tweaking the FDE someday. I still think it still has a lot of potential, especially with updated FDE. Cheers TJ PS get A2A's Accu-feel to go with your GA birds...it really helps. "The knack of flying is learning how to throw yourself at the ground and miss." - Douglas Adams Tejon 'TJ' Stanley
October 3, 201213 yr With regards to the 208 and T182, how are they fps wise. The 182T is tough on performance... for training, the C182Q might be a better option. Bert
