Aerofly FS on Steam!

Featured Replies

Just noticed they've made Aerofly FS available on Steam. It's 33,99 euros.. B)

Very cool! I'm in!

i910900k, RTX 3090, 32GB DDR4 RAM, AW3423DW, Ruddy girt big mug of Yorkshire Tea

Nice! Thanks for the heads up. Been waiting for this to become available at a more wallet friendly price.

Absolutely, I've been looking for a downloadable version for a while.

And discounted too, awesome.

Can it be downloaded to a machine with a good internet access and then moved to the machine I want to install it at? I know I'll have to install Steam on that other system, but the question is - can the media files be saved and transposed to the other system for install?

AMD Ryzen 5600x, 32GB RAM, GPU Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti 8 GB, 1 TB and 500 GB nvme2 SSD drives, HP 27" 60Hz LED monitor @ 1920x1080, T16000, Hotas from old X52 Pro, Saitek Combat Rudder Pro (2010 model)

You can do this:

on the PC where you have a better internet connection:

1) install steam and install the game

2) browse to your steam folder on this PC which should be under program files or program files (x86)

3) within this folder, browse to the "steam apps" folder and then to the "common" folder and locate the folder named "aerofly fs"

4) copy this folder to a device which is large enough to transfer to the other PC

on the PC where you intend to run the game:

1) install steam on computer you want to run the game from

2) start downloading the game (you only need to start it so it creates the appropriate folders) you can then pause the download and exit Steam

3) copy the saved folder from the other PC over to the same location on the computer which you want to run the game from

4) open Steam and launch the game

5) voila!

Thx Tech!

:-) Breakthrough time for them.

Also; by setting this up in the relative infancy of the product, they have given themselves and any third parties an enormous advantage in the ease of pushing upgrades and updates as well as in the ease of reacquiring your software in the event of a problem.

That may not seem like much now, but if this software ever acquires an addon community, it will be an enormous advantage.

Glad to see this. Maybe there will be more activity here now. I have had it for some time now (Having paid full price) but that is ok. I will now have to start spending some more time with it Be sure to join the IKARUS forum also, I am shotgun 45 there. I still also have a lot to do in MSFlight and will have to start deviding my time, such as it is. Like I told the AeroflyFS Rep at Airventure, the demise of Flight can only be a good thing for Aerofly. What is Microsoft thinking? Will we ever know?

Edit: Well, must say $33.99 is a very good price. I paid $60.00 for the Disk and that was on sale from $65.00.

Looks like a very good sim. I have had the chance to try it twice and was positively surprised. Didn't try both gliders, but I was glad to find that even slutter is modelled. I still have to check if it depends only on TAS instead of IAS, just like in RL :-) meaning it will occur sooner at higher altitudes ...

For some reason, damage modelling seems to big a big no-no in the civilian sim universe. I am gratified to see the plane actually coming apart if you do something stupid, in Aerofly.

Wow! How could I miss that?

I hope that Steam's sales will bring lots of people into that simulator. Unfortunately, I'm short on money right now, so I'll have to wait for a sale.

I've purchased it and all I can say is that the day we can get a full fledged sim that can run as smooth and feel as good as Aerofly...

I'll be in simmer heaven

I have a Dream ;)

That's why I believe that aeroflyFS is the future. Hope it gets enough support to take off...

  • 1 year later...

aeroflyFS is 50% off at Steam until December 3rd! I'm definitely getting this now.

I just want to ask, is the Steam version getting patched with the latest updates as they get released?
