Looks like Dubai-OMDB is on the way

Just saw a video on the Aerosoft forum for the Airbus Extended and in the 2:00 minute mark thru 2:30 there are some shots landing at Dubai. Judging from the looks of the artwork on the buildings in the scenery surrounding the area at the 2:17 mark looking very similar to the texture style FlyTampa used at Kai Tak, I would bet that it's from FlyTampa. It's been rumored they have been "re-booting" that scenery for a while and wouldn't surprise me if its released soon.

Here's the video in reference in this thread. http://forum.aerosoft.com/index.php?/topic/58953-fsx-aerosoft-official-airbus-x-extended-video/

That one is long overdue

Yup, but it seems to be much larger than just a reboot.

CIty, and even next door emirate seem to be there too.

Hi !

But I think it's developped by Aerosoft, because they tell that they were developping a middle east airport... Wait and see !

Best regards,

Thomas

Nice find, I think you might be right. Those buildings look a lot like the same texturing that is seen in Kai Tak screen shots. Not saying they re-used the buildings, but the artwork looks similar.

I wonder when it will be released?

Take a look at Aerosoft forum and see what Oliver Pabst said:

He gives us some clues.

I too find that Fly Tampa is behind this and Aerosoft will be a distributor just like they do with Kai Tak and Vienna.

The best of all is knowing that we'll finally have Dubai for FSX. Even better if it looks like Kai Tak.

Let's wait and see.

I hope they also include Sharja airport

The skyline and the coastline appear to be there:

But the airport would be a bit of a stretch...

I don't think there can be any doubt that's not FT's work there. It looks great. The plane looks good too !

It's quite risky to develop a payware DXB/OMDB at the moment because the real world Dubai is changing so quickly and there are lots of uncertainty with regards to the new Al Maktoum airport and what's going to happen to the old one. Back then Flytampa took a guess at one of the then-future terminals and they got it wrong.

I believe it is not risky at all under the current situation.

The current airport is witnessing changes on a "limited" scale for now.

Terminal 3B is almost operational, and that is it.

There is an intention to build a terminal (4?) where the current lowcost terminal 2 resides on the opposite side of the airport for international traffic from other airlines, with the intention of handing Terminal one over to Emirates exclusively.

Al Maktoum International has been pushed back to beyond 2025 if memory serves, and only cargo goes through it now, and a few FBO"s are looking into a move in the future.

The LCC terminal has been done for over a year, but is not operational as I believe no airline wants to miss out on International feeder services.

The Dubai Airshow will be there for the first time next year.

The "mistake" in Fly Tampa's previous scenery was the Parallel runways, which were done after the scenery was released, and maintenance hangars location, not the terminal.

If it hasn't been posted before on this topic, the announcement is on the FlyTampa forum

Oops sorry Luis, you beat me to it! Yes, the screenshots are simply stunning!

Happy Flying,
