November 4, 201213 yr I hope this message finds you all well and apologies if this has been raised before. It's just a quick question to establish the differences, pros and cons of ezdok vs opus camera shake. I have found that opus won't work with ezdok and I have finally got ezdok where I want it and I love the program. However I am hearing that opus performs better than as2012 where weather is concerned. Would love to try opus but concerned about any trade offs I need to make. Jas Jaseman. Lovin it up here........ November 4, 201213 yr You can use Opus for it's weather engine and leave the Live Camera options turned off. After all, it IS, basically, a weather engine with the other goodies thrown in as cherries on top. Personally, I really like the camera effects in Opus but I have no experience of EZCA as I downloaded the manual and found it to be a little too convoluted for my liking so the credit card stayed firmly tucked away. November 6, 201213 yr I use the weather engine of OpusFSX together with EZCA: no problems at all. You indeed simply have to disable the camera option in OpusFSX. I am using EZCA for camera's again now because OpusFSX is still a work in progress and the camera part isn't completely finished yet imho. Might also have to do with the fact that I also use Track IR. I often get odd motion effects (choppy or way too large jumps) and transitions don't always work well. I do think I will move back to the OpusFSX camera somewhere in the future but right now I am done beta testing.
November 6, 201213 yr OpusFSX currently does not inject turbulence into FSX, with the only indication of turbulence being camera shake. This is planned for inclusion in a future update. This may or may not affect gusting winds as well. Hook Larry Hookins Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of EarthAnd danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;

November 13, 201213 yr I have both Opus and EZCA, but now I choose to use Opus for cameras. It is much easier to set up and simply works great consistently. I have put EZCA on the shelf. Robert Yunque
November 13, 201213 yr As a follow up to my previous post: I am using OpusFSX again for cameras and ditched EZCA. I simply had to change a few settings to get things working they way I want it. The motion effects of OpusFSX are far more realistic! Setting up views can be done with much higher precision too, which I like. Although I didn't have too much problems with EZCA in that regard, setting up views for a new plane is a lot easier with OpusFSX (specially if you are completely new to the programs).

November 14, 201213 yr I set up and saved all my camera views with OpusFSx then when I go back to the plane where I thought I saved all the cameras there are none of the camera views set up and I have to start from scratch. I'm thinking of just going back to EZDOK which amazingly is starting to seem easier to configure then OPUS!
November 14, 201213 yr And what about Opus vs AS2012? Anyone tried and found the wx features different between these two? Thanks! Regards,Victor Quebec
November 15, 201213 yr Commercial Member <br />I set up and saved all my camera views with OpusFSx then when I go back to the plane where I thought I saved all the cameras there are none of the camera views set up and I have to start from scratch. I assume you kept using the Add New Camera button for each new view you created and also used the Assign Aircraft Types to Camera View button to assign the new view to the required aircraft group. If you send us your camera DAT file we can see where you have gone wrong. If you use the Restrict Camera to Aircraft of Interest button to select All Aircraft Types then the Select Camera View button will list all cameras created. Don't give up so easily, you are just making a simple mistake at some stage in the camera creation process. Regards Cheryl :smile:
November 15, 201213 yr Mmmm... Having recently purchased OpusFSX, I think I too will experiment using the camara option instead of Ezdok. Much as I LOVE what Ezdok does, it's never been a 'set it and forget it' item for me. I often 'loose' the Ezdok settings in the dll and exe.xlm files for some reason. Will report back.... November 15, 201213 yr Commercial Member Hi Dougal There are already a large number of poeple using LC so you will be in good company. Firstly, update to the lastest beta, there is also a very good beta release due out tomorrow or at the weekend. Please read the latest Live Camera manual carefully, and if you fly 737s you will find some camera definitions already prepared for you. Just assign your button or unused key commands to the views and away you go. You can assign the same button or key command to all views if you wish and just cycle through them. To make sure you can get the best out of the DHM effects just try the test options, the low freq turbulence should move smoothly along with all the AHM options. Regards Stephen
November 15, 201213 yr Ok I am teetering right on the edge of purchase........ Like in the next few minutes. However I wonder - Do Opus views move from one cockpit camera to the next the way EzDok does? The way Ezdok moves from one camera to the next in the cockpit without just suddenly seeing my upper panel? It is like I looked up. Or does it just jump to the next camera? November 15, 201213 yr Commercial Member Yes you can set a transition speed (0 instant, 1 fastest to 100 slowest) to move instantly, slowly or quickly its up to you. Stephen
