November 21, 201213 yr Just wanted to start a conversation about the world economy. Apart from Asia which is undergoing excellent growth in their economies, it seems elsewhere that signs are beginning to emerge of an economic slowdown we shouldn't be having. Does anyone realize that Europe slid back into recession in the last week?
November 21, 201213 yr Well duh, what do they expect the 'austerity measures' to do? Boost the economy? Maybe the prison system might get a leg-up :-( At least another looming war with Iran might kick things along in the next yr or so. Simmo W, Melbourne, Ozhttp://www.youtube.com/user/id5556

November 21, 201213 yr Your treading on dangerous territory here! We're not suppose to get political on this forum, which a topic like this can easily fall into!! Thanks Tom My Youtube Videos! http://www.youtube.com/user/tf51d
November 21, 201213 yr It will be interesting to see how this all goes. Can't wait to see how we spend our way out this time. Chris Miller
November 21, 201213 yr Please be very careful gentlemen... Remember that this an international organizational. The US election is over. Each country has their own fiscal dragons to battle or get eaten by. Please keep any discussions within those perspectives. Moderating will be very strict to keep the peace. Kind regards,

Kind regards, Thanks Stephen. Definitely trying to keep the spirit of the forums alive here and steering clear of politics. It is applicable though from a business perspective which drives the industry (manufacture and hospitality) of aviation. So, NO POLITICKING here please people. Thanks. And that includes me!
November 21, 201213 yr In Ireland our situation is improving, we've been out of recession since 2010, and expect to exit the bailout program next year, growth forecasts are down, but growth is growth. Tale of two halves really, our IT, pharmaceuticals and agriculture industries are booming, all export lead growth, but the retail and property markets are still contracting. At work our company is going from strength to strength, so it's nice to have a bit of job security. I know a lot of people say that sales of business and first class seats on airlines are a sign of the economy, and all our business class seats are fully booked on practically every flight, indicating a strong economy. Guess it just depends on the industry you're in at the moment. Regards, Ró. Rónán O Cadhain.

November 21, 201213 yr These are the times I am glad I work for myself in a industry producing food. I can imagine, over here agriculture is booming thanks to the rise in food prices and a few good years for crops. For years it'd been "that" industry, that not very many people made money on with out the CAP grants, but now that the quotas are going to lifted next year I can imagine yields rising even further. Regards, Ró. Rónán O Cadhain.
November 21, 201213 yr I work in the social welfare and unemployment office, and we are booming at the moment *grin* The black humor (and joke) aside, I live in Norway where we have marginal problems compared to pretty much the rest of EU aside of GER and GB. However, if we didnt have oil, the only thing we could fall back on is salmon... Andreas Stangenes http://www.youtube.com/user/krsans78 Add me on gamertag: Bullhorns78
November 21, 201213 yr This has been going on for so long I just consider this economy the new normal, I am used to it now and there is no end in sight. People just have to adapt to change. These are the times I am glad I work for myself in a industry producing food. You got the right idea. :good: Matthew Kane I'm Dyslexic, what's an error to you is not to me
November 21, 201213 yr If the bloody media stopped banging on about how bad things are all the time then maybe, just maybe, people will start to feel more confident. At the end of the day, businesses are not going to invest and people are not going to spend when there is always this dark cloud of gloom rammed down our throats every minute of the day  HowardMSI Mag B650 Tomahawk MB, Ryzen7-7800X3D CPU@5ghz, Arctic AIO II 360 cooler, Nvidia RTX4090 GPU, 32gb DDR5@6000Mhz, SSD/2Tb+SSD/500Gb+OS, Corsair 1000W PSU, LG Ultragear 48"4K, MFG Crosswinds, TQ6 Throttle, Fulcrum One YokeMy FlightSim YouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/@skyhigh776

Of course, the airlines are doing well - people can't get out of the country fast enough... (I'll stop now before it gets political.) H
