November 26, 201213 yr Nice video. Two questions: - why don't you use the fmc to program the ndap1 departure and use vnav? - you set flaps 1 at passing 1 at the speedtape: i think that's not the correct procedure. You should set flaps 1 after accelerating above v2+20 and flaps up when you pass the 1 mark on the speedtape. Someone who knows what's the right procedure?

Select Flaps1 above the manoeuvring speed and select F0 above the F1 speed. I am pretty sure passing the 1 marker is the point of retraction. On the way down through decelerating you select flaps 5 before the marker Alex Alex Ridge Join Fswakevortex here! YOUTUBE and FACEBOOK
November 26, 201213 yr Good video for newbies, but... I am pretty sure passing the 1 marker is the point of retraction. Procedures may vary in different airlines, but manuals suggest other procedure. FCOM vol1 NP.21.46, FCTM 3.32. I noticed one more mistake. NADP 1 thrust reduction altitude is 800' AGL. In your video thrust reduction occurs at 1500AGL. But who knows, maybe I'm wrong. http://forum.avsim.n...oked-into-this/ . Edited November 26, 201213 yr by rsvit Rostyslav S Wanna fly 737NGX with turbulence?
November 26, 201213 yr I noticed one more mistake. NADP 1 thrust reduction altitude is 800' AGL. In your video thrust reduction occurs at 1500AGL. That's variable. 1500 is quite common. Matt Cee

That's variable. 1500 is quite common. Did it really warrant a 'good for newbies'? It can be 1500 but I am pretty sure it was set up as 800ft. The reason I haven't done vnav is because it's easier to explain, show and it is how they do it at the SOP I am familiar with . Vnav engaged after clean Alex Ridge Join Fswakevortex here! November 28, 201213 yr Hi Alex I'm sure this isn't the right way to do it, but I always engage VNAV and LNAV on the ground and engage autopilot whenever I'm ready ( I normally handfly to about 1000 ) and then A/T is managing speed. Can you please explain the use of LVL CHG and the way you are manually managing speed during the departure? I'd like to start adapting my procedures to start flying more in line with how things would be done in the real world. Cheers Martin
