Flight 1 Pilatus PC12 Recommendation

Featured Replies

I am considering buying the Flight 1 Pilatus PC12 but haven't heard much about it. Does anyone who has it recommend it or not. What are your impressions - good or bad. Help me decide. Thanks.

It's been a few months since I last re-installed it, together with a couple of RealAirs.

It's a very good add-on, top-notch, even if the panel graphics are not up to today's standards. The main characteristics of the real Pilatus are very well replicated. I recommend!

Buying from Flight1 you also have the chance to try it for a few days and give up if you don't like it - money back guarantee...I believe...

AMD Ryzen 5600x, 32GB RAM, GPU Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti 8 GB, 1 TB and 500 GB nvme2 SSD drives, HP 27" 60Hz LED monitor @ 1920x1080, T16000, Hotas from old X52 Pro, Saitek Combat Rudder Pro (2010 model)

Everything worked as advertised, but I just didnt get any enjoyment out of the bird, that was a few years ago, she's dated by today's standards.

Flight1 does have a 30 day refund policy, so you can return her if your not happy.

It depends on what you are looking for... The PC12 is quite a distinctive airplane and the Flight1 version is true to the original.

Especially, if you can equip it with dual RXP 430s.. At that point, you've got a really nice package.

In typical Flight1 style, it is not the most drop dead gorgeous rendition, but it is a pretty serious airplane to fly into small airports.

I bought her a few weeks back on sale so have limited flight time. I like her but you'll find she demands your attention on takeoff and landing;there will be no sightseeing on approach. She has a serious nose-down pitch attitude on approach which seems unrealistic, but I haven't ventured into the aircraft.cfg file yet to perhaps modify. Short field capability, longish range, and turboprop speed make for an attractive package.

I love it, one of my favorite. I found fitting Reality XP not working well, especially with night lighting. And the ND didn't display the route properly. The VC is dated but most important it has proper night lighting with a separate backlighting and dome switch. It's lite system wise but a joy to fly, really fast and a challenge. I wish they re-did it. It's top on my wish list for a redo. Don't fly it much anymore unless someone can direct me to a proper RXP retrofit.

Like this? Make sure you have LinkGPS=On set in the rxpgns.ini file for the PC12.

Excellent flight modeling...

Dated graphics (FS9 model made into FSX native)

With the RXP GNS430W it's quite capable for those who enjoy online.

Also very quick.... I like it. Don't have it installed at the moment.

If you want a fast STOL aircraft then it is great. A bit dated in the graphics department but worth a try.... Especially with twin RXP's....
