I remember when I First started into the world of flight simulation,I Sat down to my mid grade PC,And started Flight Sim 98' I think was?I remember being placed in a Cessna 172 or something similar at Meigs Field, and I remember how Very Happy I was.As a Chicagoan to be at the City's Lake front surrounded by that beautiful Skyline. The graphics might not of been state of art but I didn't care,I was at Meigs!!!! :Big Grin:

Recently a couple of freeware sceneries for X-Plane have brought me back to that special time when it all started.

Killer shots Patrick. Meigs was a great place. Thankfully it can live on in the sim world. Ride safe Bro.

Check out Greenbrier Aero Club, the VA for and about the GA pilot.

Glad you like it, we are hoping to upgrade at some point in the future to include some XPX features. Peter from Aerobridge still runs 9 and I am slowly learing the process of airport creation.

Like you back in my MSFS days Meigs had a special place in my heart and thats why I jumped on board to help Aerobridge make it happen.....

Nice picts of fine memories here, been flying there a lot starting with FS95!

I remember when I first started FS. It was FS2000, I remember that the default airport was in Chicago Meigs.

Beautiful and really brings back the memories for me too.

im not chicagoan, heck i'm not even american. but thanks to FS2002, i still remember having a good memories at Meigs Field for my first ever flying lesson. Sad to know the place is gone :(

Meigs Field, got to have a special place in everyone's heart that has been flying MSFS 2002 and before. I can remember sitting there as a kid with FS5 trying to nail a good landing with the keyboard :good:

Ah... Meigs field... The great uniter among Simming enthusiasts. I still remember first loading up MSFS4.0 and watching the little demo run with the subtitles. "Microsoft has exciting news!..." They were touting the inclusion of animated parts and runway end lighting among other things. Good times, good times. :)
