Hi fellow aviation nuts!

Welcome to Avsim Helen! Might I also recommend an account at Airliners.net? Between them and us, you'll have all your necessary aviation resources tied up neatly between two sites B)

Thanks Cameron, I'll check that out, although I have to be honest, my interest is solely in GA and PPL training, and I use FSX relative to that. That came across as superior-sounding, sorry didn't mean it like that!.... just that airliners and commercial aviation ain't my thang.

When I first met my husband I thought he had the strangest accent I had ever heard........what I called "Pirate English" ..... sort of a South West English accent (Cornwall, Devon?)...... I was sure he was English.... but his accent is one of the many newfie accents. In the next cove along from where we are, the majority have an Irish accent that you would struggle to tell apart from a real Irish accent!

Most of my "Newfie" friends must be from the Irish cove as I have always thought they have a "Modified Irish" accent.

Don't let the name fool you, they are an incredible resource no matter what your area of interest. I referred to them frequently when I was in flight school.

Look at these guys! They're all slicking their hair back, rubbing their fingers across their teeth, straightening their ties! And the smell of fresh deodorant is over powering!

Welcome Helen.

If you live in Moncton, there's a small chance you'd know our resident whip cracker Stephen aka Spirit Flyer.

Ha ha ha  Please! .....I have 3 kids and have been married for 20 years, and my ideal of a wild night, is having a couple pieces of chocolate with my red wine and chinese food at home on a Friday night  ..... but it's like that at the school I work at, but in reverse ....... 18 teachers, all female - then this new new teaching assistant starts, a guy, and all the ladies are going crazy!

I don't live in Moncton, but I am there 2-4 times per month.

Disregard post.

:LMAO:

Oh poop.. I have no hair to slick back and no teeth to rub. Guess I'll have to wear that dang black tie again that I hated wearing. Thank goodness for my deodorant. Just%20Kidding.gif

Hi, Helen, from a fellow Canadian--albeit from the Left Coast as well (Vancouver).

I'm a former Maritimer: was born and lived in Moncton, in fact, for years when I was young. I've been to all the Maritime provinces, with the exception of Newfoundland, unfortunately.

Anyway, welcome to Avsim!

Joel Murray @ CYVR (actually, somewhere about halfway between CYNJ and CZBB)

Thank you sir !

On second thoughts, from what I've seen so far you can handle yourself pretty damned good!

Welcome Helen - I got my PPL in the Tomahawk which could be a bit wirey at times. That said you may find that simulation can be more demanding due to the lack of the seat of the pants experience.

Good luck with your PPL.

Cheers

Hi! And welcome!

Your arrival is refreshing. This place is in dire need of a gender shakeup.
