FPS has nothing to do with CPU speed

Lol, this single statement goes against everything I've ever learnt about FSX.

Where'd you get this info from?

So over clocking is useless? It's placebo all along?!

GPU is the important for having better FPS.

You really don't know what you're talking about. Please stop now and educate yourself on the basics of how FSX works.

I know they both have affects but computer games are mostly into gpu. If you have a i7 and mediocre graphics card, that wont help you much.

Have had the plane for some time, never saw any problem with 'piracy denial', you buy it, you register it, it works.

Also haven't seen an issue with landing gear since the early pre-release days, if you really paid all that money for

it why aren't you opening a support ticket on the CS web site?

These topics tend to just devolve into useless talking past eachother. I totally get the frustration, I find it bizarre

that this thing can't load properly without first loading the default, none of their earlier stuff needed that, but the

release version starts with no hydraulics if you don't. So, ya, I think they deserve to get reamed over this. BUT,

after saying that, I've owned the Wilco 777 for many years, and THAT piece of crap has never flown correctly,

and they've never even made the slightest effort to correct anything. The CS already flies better than that, and

unlike Wilco they at least have some forward motion in improving things.

If I didn't want to fly a 777 now I'd wait for the PMDG, but the CS is still a better choice than anything else, true

I've not tried a true 12 hour long haul flight maybe that would be frustrating, but I've completed shorter flights with

it, its got problems but so far I've been able to work with/around them. When PMDG finally gets theirs out the door

there will be no more reason to fly this but until then its been better than nothing.

I have to agree with you ... kind of ...:

In FSX there is no better choice of a B777 than the Captain Sim one. Wilco 777 is even worse and I don't remember any freeware aircraft or payware panel that provides a minimum degree of resemblance to a T7.

But:

It's ridiculous to call the current v1.0 of CS a "complete and public release". And it's ridiculous to pay 59.99 Euros for the state this version is in. Nobody tells you what v1.1 will include. And nobody tells you when v1.1 will be published. But 59.99 Euros puts this plane into the top-level segment of this market. How does that combine???

I sometimes simply revert to FS9, load my good old PSS 777, and fly. Yes, even after SP2 it still has some issues, but it was complete and (by and large) flyable from v1.0 on. Unfortunately it can't be ported to FSX ...

What happened to AVSIM

I regret having spent 9€ on CS T7... tried v0.8, 9 and now 1. Uninstalled it and I'll patiently wait for pmdg's t7

Well, I'll stop here because I know where this is heading, which is no where.

FPS means how many frames per second you get while playing, if your FPS is low your game will be laggy all the time. Your GPU & CPU just affect how good FPS you get.

Also FSX unlike many other computer games is very dependent from CPU, better CPU with higher clock speed can have a huge impact on FSX performance while there's little to no performance (FPS) difference between using some mediocre and high end graphics card.

Most of the calculations (including some of the graphics routines) in FSX are done by the CPU. The GPU is woefully underused by the FSX code. If it was utilised properly, most people wouldn't have any framerate problems at all using today's fast PCs.

Yeah, this is exactly why Us simmers are the poorest breed of gamers out there! All our money is spent on new processors.

Why people upgrading their 580 to 680 if GPU is worthless then?

Why people upgrading their 580 to 680 if GPU is worthless then?

Because many people play other games than just FSX, and most other games can take big advantage from better GPU. Just FSX and some other older tech ones can't.

However it's not just bad FPS on CS 777's behalf, but, it's extremely clunky, and a pain to operate, I'm at 4.6Ghz and I am struggling to go above 15FPS at default LAX. I've been in a situation on the VATSIM network where I was being vectored in for an ILS approach, and the controller gave me a specific heading to fly on, so I reached for the heading knob on the MCP. Lo and Behold the heading knob starting spinning around, in complete 360's. Do you know how embarrassing that is while connected?

Now this sir had me laughing so hard although I know it wasn't funny at the time! I honestly don't know what came over me to consider buying from them again especially after their sorry effort at the 757. The damn thing floats to the ground like a piece of paper in a gentle breeze when it stalls. I plead temporary insanity! Thanks for pointing me to this link.

"The aircraft G-limits are only there in case there is another flight by that particular airplane. If subsequent flights do not appear likely, there are no G-limits."

I am personally done with CS.

757- I use the QW version over the CS model because while the QW model is less in depth it at least works and predictably so every time.

727- If the HJG model had a VC it would be far superior and it doesn't cost a dime. As it stands, at least the HJG model autopilot works correctly, something the CS model can't boast.

737- Thought I had learned my lesson but it looked so nice on that 9.99 sale day. I love when I switch views and half the switches turn off. Oh and the PMS- isn't that supposed to do something?

I won't touch another one of their products... they have gotten enough of my money. You all can do what you want but there is a reason there are a bunch of PMDG fan boys running around the forums and people complain about CS. Take that for what it's worth.
