What a topic I started, It turned into a fight

Pretty standard for a Captain Sim thread over the years!

Certainly need to be thick skinned to start one!!

I'm here all the time, what do you want me to say? It's been said already: Basically nobody understands why they made this 777 instead of finishing their other stuff first. Now i am against them and i stood by them many times.

A model with a cabin and no VC? Come on?

Yeah and even more weird is how they totally rushed this 777, I would have understood if they made it properly with proper cabin, flight dynamics, most systems working as well as in previous 1.0's and so on.

I'm not sure what do you want me to do? If only one company deserves it, then by all means they shall receive it, I will not degrade any company if they are trying their best, and I will not praise any company that does not deserve praise. That is essentially lying to myself, and lying to you in return. Honesty will make or break the most experienced reviewers.

Let me just quote your initial statement quickly:
I will intentionally publicize all negative characteristics so that future customers are exposed to some truth.
So.... only customers of CS deserve the truth? :) As for the rest of your post: No.

I would love to know where I said that, there's no line in that statement saying that I'd only do it for Captain Sim. If you read anything that I typed, before you summarized, you'd realize what I would do for CS, I'd do for any company that deserves it, be it negative, or positive. But you must have been dying so much inside to flip the table and use the 'No.' on me, and therefore missed the whole essence behind my writing.

I applaud your attempt with the No, however you're doing it wrong. Next time wait until I formulate an opinion before whipping out the No. :Batting Eyelashes:

I am neutral when it comes to payware as everything has some good points (except maybe abacus), but honestly I think quite a few people are giving a one sided opinion. I notice that a significant amount of people complaining about the cs products have their avsim profiles covered in PMDG owner banners. The simple fact is not everything is going to be the quality of PMDG ( except possibly Level D) and that's because PMDG pull in all the experts and engineers, as well as examining the plane, top to bottom in the RW. I love my PMDG products for their realism and graphics but I also love my CS products for they're beautiful graphics. In the ending picking a payware product is down to your personal opinion, whether you love realism or graphics, or both. Its no excuse to say horrendous things about CS when they provide an amazing graphical representation of the aircraft.

How can you even compare PMDG with LDS?

What have PMDG released in the last few years?

I am not going to even bother mentioning their future products

I have never flown the Captain Sim 777 but it seems like it is the right choice for people who like looking at cabins and toilets and not the hard core simmer that PMDG markets to.

The problem with this is that the plane is absurdly overpriced. If you want to go look at toilets and cabins, go get some freeware!

Bought it in the sale, 10 quid I can live with that. Great soundset, beutifull model, VC is great aswell, just hope they sort out the FMC VNAV bugs then it will be a pretty good 777.

If I`d paid full price for it, I would not be as enthusiastic about it thats for sure. I really do wish them well on the T7, it could really help them get rid of the reputation for never finishing a product properly.

And for the record I fly all the good add ons and took a gamble on the T7 while buying the C130 in the sale.

The only reason i am able to overlook CS system bugs is thier graphics, cabin views etc, helps to change views in heavy iron to fun up the cruise period a bit, CS wing views from detailed cabin are reason i buy CS, but provided the system faults are not too bad, but even with CS sometimes this is the case, inital release of cs767 was a big joke, but million version later its worth having.

CS need to move away from hiding behind software version to produce usable product, versioning should make product more robust, not usable in the first release.

Ilike the PMDG and got most of them, but CS cabin views means ill buy CS version before i do PMDG, but thats just me. Soon as i reach cruise in heavy iron, i stay in cabin wing views till final approach. But then , thats just me. SO far CS are the best at this.

Love was put into them. The Level D was the original. Like many of the PMDG aircraft, It was so good that even now.....many years later it holds its own in regards to comparison to many modern offerings (i.e. it stands the test of time). It has been always solid performance wise and continues to be a reliable piece of software. It does as advertised everytime. Whatever minor bugs it did have, have been eliminated and while the 2d Panel is dated looking, it is still a great airplane to fly. Additionally because of its "softer" system requirements, the LVLD provides a great tubeliner to fly for those whose systems are not exactly cutting edge. The LVLD was put together by "amateur" hobbyists with Love of the hobby and it shows (even now).

No doubt PMDG is the standard. They have pilots and engineers and also put "Love" into thier products and you can tell that also. The level and attention to detail is stunning on all their products. The NGX is probably the greatest aircraft addon for FSX and all thier other offerings are groundbreaking in thier own right but homage must be paid to the Level D 767. It is just that great an airplane. It is sad that Level D could not get thier 757 out the door. I am pretty sure it would have been stunning. I wish PMDG or LVLD (or both) would get together and do a 767-300ER and 767-400 right (nothing wrong with the Captain Sim but let's face it, it had some issues).

It's not just the bugs, it's also that they have announced their 777 Captain as "Step III: 1.0 - an official and complete public release."

Yet it's far from being complete and who knows when it will be? New customers pay 59.99 Euros and still have to wait for the completion and de-bugging of this add-on.

What happened to AVSIM

It's not just the bugs, it's also that they have announced their 777 Captain as "Step III: 1.0 - an official and complete public release."

Exactly... it's not a finished product... I certainly hope not...

I just don't understand this?! They've released the 1.00 - which would mean that it's finished??? That's what they stated in the "beginning". As "Olli4740 very accurately put it: "Step III: 1.0 - an official and complete public release."

And on their website and store, they have stopped "warning" people, that this plane is a "work-in-progress".

When I went to their forums, I read that the 1.00 version, actually should be regarded as an 1.00-BETA... I was to say the least, very, very disappointed...

MANY things are simply not implemented (yet?). I really miss the systems. bug-fixes? EICAS messages for instance?

The EFB (Electronic-Flight-Bag) is "just" a picture of UUDD airport - with a couple of SIDS/STARS in it...

And in the mean-time they take time and energy to release expansion-packs?

I'm just SO disappointed with this aircraft. That I was SO stupid to pay out $55 for.

And I can see, that they've raised the price for over $80!

I'll stop now! Sorry for my 'rant'...

Best regards,

I am often a defender of Captain Sim. Mostly because of they way that, for a while at least, they listened to us, and greatly improved their customer service. However, that has sadly slipped back to as it was before - possibly even worse.

I have all but two of their products, most of which I paid full price for.

This T7 has IMO, turned into nothing short of a farce. To expect paying customers to accept full releases like this, I find simply insulting. On my setup (and the guy up the road), it is still not flyable in the manor in which it is advertised. If you're happy to fly this computerised bird by hand, then fine (nearly), but that's clearly not how the T7 is intended to be operated, nor as advertised by Captain Sim.

Not defending CS here because I CAN'T stand the state the 777 is in right now but in regards to the EFB, you can add your own charts.
