February 21, 201313 yr Single GPU has some advantages (about 50% faster than 680 GTX) -- and I like that it's 6GB! Should work VERY well with FSX and XP10. http://www.newegg.co...pk=nvidia titan I've pre-ordered.

February 22, 201313 yr and I like that it's 6GB! I'm stoked on GDR5 + 384-bit! Problem is, I haven't got a freakin' mobo and processor! Best wait til we get those parts first. February 22, 201313 yr Should work VERY well with FSX and XP10. On a 1080P display, you should be able to run 8xS + 4/8x SGSS. OR 3x1080P at 8xS + 2xSGSS.... If P3D is in true DX11, then it is going to enjoy this card...
February 22, 201313 yr The 3 screen benches done at LinusTechTips (youtube) are nowhere near what I was expecting, looks like I'll have to give a 3 screen setup a miss for another generation. Until I can get 60FPS in modern game like Crysis or Crysis 3 at high settings I won't bother with a 3 screen setup, its just too expensive and too large a space commitment to take on for use just with FSX alone. I think I'll just have to get a 30" single display and forget about multi screen madness for the next few years :( Cheers, Andy.
February 22, 201313 yr Sit close enough to this and you'll not need 3 displays: http://www.powersellernyc.com/Catalog/View/123820.html Price of 4K TV's are dropping rapidly ... they used be $30,000 US last year now, they are 1/2 that at $15,000 ... by end of 2014 they'll be down in the $4000 range ... end of 2015 $2000 range. And if P3D do actually produce a DX11 capable FSX ... look for 3D support ... and keep your barf bags on stand-by.
February 23, 201313 yr If you want something to test this cards prowess, don't forget to add 3DMark to your toolkit! My score was 3534 and the Fire Test demos were a slideshow on my machine. February 23, 201313 yr Well it looks like my pre-order got pushed back to 3/21 for delivery ... looks like I missed the first batch. EDIT: Also have a concern about it's support in Adobe CS6 PPro and Photoshop and with Cinema 4D (openGL) ... I use these products a lot on my professional side.
February 23, 201313 yr IMO FSX is a lost cause when it comes to hoping new hardware will bring acceptable FPS. I agree, I'm not looking for fps improvements in FSX and I probably will not see much of a change, however I use other sims/products that can and do utilize GPU hardware much better than FSX.
February 23, 201313 yr I've read comments on these forums from numerous knowledgable folks that a 4gb video card would eat up too much VAS space and that a video card with no more than 2 gb of vram is recommended for FSX. If that is true, wouldn't this video card with 6gb of video ram result in instant OOM? I know nothing about this, just asking the question. February 23, 201313 yr IMO FSX is a lost cause when it comes to hoping new hardware will bring acceptable FPS. FSX suffers from poorly optimized code and no updates or support to correct it. Maybe P3D is the answer but I don't have much hope for it either. Yeah, I don't think that it's worth it anymore to try and make FSX quicker. Seriously, with every new hardware generation, we get a 5 FPS improvement at most. Definitely does not justify the cost of the new hardware. If you want something to test this cards prowess, don't forget to add 3DMark to your toolkit! My score was 3534 and the Fire Test demos were a slideshow on my machine. Not bad! My Fire Strike score is 1910. Not only was it a complete ,slideshow but in the demo the picture lagged way behind the sound. Many people are not impressed with Fire Strike (and it's true that it could look a bit better), however I'm heavily impressed by the fact that all smoke, particles and illumination is dynamic. Only the animation is scripted. That definitely justifies the performance hit.

What sort of God-machine were they expecting to come along sometime in the next 200 years capable of playing this monster, I thought. Of course about a year later we were playing it with relative ease, and now my machine laughs at Crysis. I'm sure it will be the same with this........ I think....... I totally agree, I don't think we will ever see 60FPS at even close to max settings in FSX, certainly not in every situation anyway or ever with triple screens (that's my Nirvana), the engine is too old and broken for it to be possible. P3D V2 is our only hope and I ain't holding my breath for that either. Cheers, Andy.
