It might rock XPX, but I don't think FSX would benefit much from a monster like this......

:good:

and I thought baby pictures were cute  those photos of the Titan are super gorgeous  :yahoo: 6gb of food for Xplane10 to eat

Multicore CPUs (IB-E 8-12 cores!), 32GB of fast quad channel ram, and now Titan. Good Lord! The hardware IS BEGGING for a robust engine for flight simulation! The hardware is ripe, the 3rd party development community is poised, and seriously were an engine developed by someone w/ the long term vision of a Steve Jobs the Pilot to be brought into the mix the entire gig could count on YEARS of growth. Maybe XPlane will be it I don't know but I hope so. The hardware is...begging!

Looks like a beast. Think it's time to upgrade my good ol' Fermi B)

well using the bufferpools=0 tweak means that you are sending tasks to the GPU instead of the CPU so I guess with 6GB memory and such frequency, FSX must run better than on today's card. Don't you think ?

too much, too soon....

:O

Hopefully someone will take the plunge and report back, but not going to get hopes up.

I considered it for a few seconds, but sometimes enough is enough. In my case, unless I was a developer, such a purchase would be pure E-peen.

I'm goin' for it! But...not til I build the new box either w/ IB-E or Haswell-E depending...

At the pace of core engine development for flight simulation, I'm thinking my next box could be my last. I'm working on 5y on this box, and seriously, it works pretty well. I'm banking on either XP 64bit or a new TBA core engine to come along while my next box is still functioning. The next box WILL NOT, I repeat, WILL NOT be based primarily on how it performs for FSX. Now maybe if P3D does something dramatic w/ version 2 who knows, but I see another flight sim engine coming sometime in the next 3-5 years. To me it's a no-brainer, and market share will exceed anything FSX has enjoyed, which apparently was enough to spawn a bunch of 3PDs still around after many years.
