I just upgraded to an i7-3930k processor with an Asus Sabertooth X79 motherboard, 16gb ram, a Samsung SSD, and a GTX Titan video card. Haven't even overclocked the processor yet, but already getting a smooth sim experienced with frames locked at 30. It's been a few years wait but finally FSX can be brought to its knees with the latest (but expensive) hardware!!

Same here a few months back - got a laptop i7, 8 GB Ram, some AMD graphics thing 2 GB - FSX ran great with addons installed! Was super impressed.

You guys running single screens or double/triple?

Be great if you both get a chance to update your profile with your PC/Sim specs..

Sorry i need to update that i have overclocked to 4.5 but am still seeing stutters with the ngx if i upload my cfg would somebody be kind enough to have a look and see if i am doing something wrong. I am using Word Not Allowed's guide 1/2 refresh rate i only have NGX, ACTIVE SKY, and EGSS UK2000 but it is not smooth. However when i use the cessna at EGSS it stays at 30 FPS and is completely smooth.

Single screen, laptop connected to a 42" plasma TV via HDMI. My laptop is not really customised or anything pretty standard - Dell Inspiron Special Edition - Win 7 64 bit. Got it for $799. To be fair I don't have the NGX. My addons are limited to FTX, REX, Accusim. The most FPS intensive planes I have are DA Cheyenne and RA Turbine Duke, Legacy. Sliders all right except for AI and Autogen. I am sure maybe my FPS would be hit if I was landing in a detailed payware quality major Airport with surrounding scenrey in a complex plane like NGX. But on GA flights to smaller airports - things run great and look great.

Try turning these off when flying intensive a/c like the NGX. Those two options take more resourses for the GPU to render and can make a big difference in performance being worse.

My system has been running great for a while. Stephen (Spirit Flyer) helped me set my rig up when I got it last year. Funny how one forgets, then remembers stuff like that when reading a thread like this. When I think about it, his influence on how well my computer runs was a tad bit forgotten until tonight. That was the configuration I asked for a quote on from DigitalStormonline.com on w/ the addition of a H100 water cooler, and the SSD was 512Gb.  I'm tempted but I'd sure like to see how Haswell E looks. Not sure when 6-core Haswells will be out, and if they decided to improve the TIM situation.  Definitely getting the 6Gb Titan ;o)
